  1. Not that I have seen unless they were an accident. Theirs were primarily transparent swirls where the internal swirling was random and the sirls would 'touch' each other throughout the pattern. In a true wirepull, the pattern does not 'touch' itself.
  2. Here's the one pic I have of the one Roman Marble donated by Bert Cohen to National Marble Museum. I'm guessing it was transferred to WVMAG with the other marble items.
  3. If you are not sure Steve - maybe it is a Vacor...?
  4. I have not see one like that or even a picture, except the pic you posted last Feb.
  5. Once you have more than two colors plus the clear base and wispy white, you have a hybrid popeye. Calling it a 4 color popeye is just furthering the description, which is good. A hybrid could have 3 colors plus the clear and wispy white or 4 or 5... Obviously, the more colors, the rarer the popeye.
  6. If you are shipping a bag of marbles (not a baggie full of marbles) like a Vitro or Marble King or advetising polybag or especially a mesh bag, put the bag inside of a baggie or bubblewrap and then wrap/tape it tightly before putting into the final package (usually a box). You want to ensure that the marbles inside the bag cannot move at all (boxes get thrown, etc. by shipper). That way the polybag or the mesh bag does not get torn. Over the years, I have had a few valuable bags get torn because the shipper did not think about it. There was one mesh bag that the shipper carefully cut out some styrofoam to fit the dimensions of the bag lying flat in a box. He put styrofoam on all sides, etc. But, the marbles inside the bag could still move and I received a bunch of marbles outside of a torn up mesh bag....
  7. Thanks for sharing the pics and info.
  8. Also, marblealan was an archaeologist (I think) before 'retiring' to sell marbles. He might have some insight. I posted that in the other thread also.
  9. Another person you might want to contact who is also an archaeologist (if I remember correctly) is Alan Basinet - 'marblealan' on eBay. He didn't specialize in 'marble archaeology' but he is quite knowledgable in both fields. I don't want to post his email here but you can always contact him through one of his eBay listings.
  10. Pretty! If someone posted these from the US as a question, I would be thinking of some of the Jabo special runs.
  11. One of the Superman ones, right? More pastel looking colors - neat!
  12. Good job on the video - almost like being there - thanks!
  13. I don't own it but this one of Ro Purser's has a few colors...
  14. I'd say Vitro on most, if not all of them. I have similar ones in smaller sizes.
  15. I lso use the 25 count plastic boxes but I also use the 35 count softer plastic boxes. If you have marbles around 5/8 inch, you can buy a plastic cover sheet (thicker type) and cut them up into strips to use a separators and then you can get 70 marbles into a box. Here's a pic of one of my boxes.
  16. Thanks, Nancy, for posting the link and thanks to ackiedee for bringing it to our attnetion - good article!
  17. I use AOL Browser and sometimes IE - I just right click on the mouse and 'save picture'. Sometimes, like with pics on this board, you have to move the mouse to a certain spot in the picture before right clicking to save.
  18. Kevin's (out of Texas) display - all Vacor Atmosphere marble - all in the 1 inch range
  19. There's a informal marble get together in northern California pretty soon. Sami Arim is coordinating it. Galen probably has info also. I'll message you Sami's email through the board and you can contact him. The Vegas Show isa good one to go to also.
  20. I'm not aware of addresses being on any of the marble boards. I know I haven't posted mine on any boards. So I don't think it's any Board problem. If anyone is diligent over the years, they could have obtained most of the marble collector's addresses one way or the other. I know I keep a list for my use in case I need to contact anyone.
  21. What area do you live in? There may be a marble group or maybe even a marble show nearby.
