Think I found a couple more to add, the first one is the best, the other two not so hot and I do have a pee wee but it may not be a Vitro at all.

This marble has a distinct pattern but it is only very thin coloring over the surface, Inside it appears to be crystal clear translucent. Looks quite well made and I don't have another like it in all my collection. So maybe it's a goodie? Please ID for me and thank you. Average player size marble. If needed I can measure. Two views, Thank you!

Hi and welcome. I only see a few common marbles on that link.

I took the time to look and see and found it interesting but know very little about more modern handmades. I would not find those seams attractive though. I would prefer a continual pattern from top to bottom. There are some less than perfect swirls that turn me off even then. For contemporary, I would expect near perfection but I guess the price tag would also be a lot higher. I own zero but like to look.

These are 4 lots that have numerous marbles that I would have liked to win. They have already gone beyond my limit to bid awhile ago. Granted, I do think there are some goodies in here but I have now set my sights on a private collection to spend my money that is completely elsewhere on Wednesday. Trouble with these lots shown below is that there could be some damage to a few or more in each bag making even the best possibly disappointing. It is a hour and a half round trip to go look in person. For me, in all 4 bags, there are actually only maybe 30% in all that would be my keeper picks. The first image will end first, to me it looked the best. That orange-yellow-green swirl or onion skin ( whatever it is? ) in the center right area looks sweet and perhaps a german handmade. But it could have problems. It's a crap shoot. I am a gambler but a cheap one. All 4 bags are over $40 EACH at this point and they'll probably double that by auctions end. Hey, I'm out. Thanks everyone.

I lasted less than an hour I think in the hole of an oil tanker ship at dock in Beaumont TX. I ruined pants, boots and a shirt and probably several hundred thousand brain cells. This was an assignment from an outfit called Manpower, a temporary employment service. It paid minimum wage which i think was $1.35 hr back in 1972 or 73. I was kind of desperate for money and a job out of Lake Charles LA as a young teenager away from home on my own. I did not get paid since I was issued a hard hat that they took out of my check as I recall. The job was to go down a ladder and shovel sludge into a bucket that was lowered down to me by a rope and wait for it to come back for a refill. The fumes of that crude was unbelievable No way could anyone get away with putting somebody to work under those conditions. I don't even know why I went down that hole but I quit and waited on the van to take the rest of the crew home and never went back for another temp job. INSANE! I soon got a job at a Sambo's Restaurant as a dishwasher with great success at $1.50.

Smiling marble !!! Awesome. -
Thank you kindly people! I think you're right. Not a terribly valuable marble but I like it anyway. Not so much to overpay anyway.

It is the two tone, tan and bone colored shooter on the left with the inverted V shaped marking. It just looks like an older marble and it looks like a good one to me. The two just to the right of it look good too. It is part of a lot I might buy. Not my image, I can't post better pictures. Thank you for your help.

From what I have found, there are perhaps some pee wees, 5/8", 3/4" and 1" experimental runs and that's about all I know of Jabos. I have a few 7/8", 9/10" and a 1 1/8" marble that sure do look like Jabo. Is this possible? Might I have something odd here? I can find some very similar examples in runs that strongly resemble these but all in this picture remain unidentified. Here's a group picture, All sizes I mention and those in question are found in this picture. Thank you!

UPDATED for this week There are some bags of marbles in this auction which I don't own and have exceeded my bidding budget already, I have consigned a number of Akro Agate glassware and UV reactive floor lamps. Also a neat smoking stand that matches a floor lamp consigned with an auctioneer here. I suppose they are marble related. I will be listing stuff for many weeks here on this venue. Thank you for allowing the post. Unfortunately if you want shipping, you may have to ask the auctioneer. You would have to register on hibid as well to bid. It wasn't too long ago that these rolled off the marble making machine. I would have to guess these were some of the last of Dave McCullough' s runs. Thee are quite nice and they are probably a tad over 3/4 inch in diameter. This is Marble Mary's image a little re-worked and the other image is mine after I opened the pkg today with my other classic Jabo additions.

Learning about marbles is endless and for me it is moving along slowly but surely. Bedsides reading a lot here, I learned quite a bit from watching Stephen Bahr on YouTube. They are super educational, great photography and are even sometime quite amusing here and there. There are pretty many videos but I look forward to even more. Here is a link. https://www.youtube.com/@stephenbahrmarbles -

Best wishes. You have been very helpful to me numerous times with my posts. I am not here for that long but I know that you not only read my posts, you put thought into them and everyone else's as well. I think you will do quite well as Moderator! Congrats! -
I collected coins for 45 years or so. Just hung it up and these keepers are locked in a safe. My last active venture was chasing ancients. Most are silver Greek and Roman coins and a Shipwreck 8 Reale coin. I know what they are but the info is on a spreadsheet. Just eye candy for you I hope. Here's a collage of what I have in that dept.

This is my "short set" of Jefferson Nickels I assembled out of my uncirculated duplicates after coming across the big lucite coin holder from Capital Plastics. All the business strikes, no proofs or varieties (1938 to 1964 D). After this picture, I put a nice 1965 nickel in that last hole. My (other) real set is in graded slabs and capsules in several binders and boxes. That is a very complete set and actually, I won't have enough time in my life to take detailed pictures of them all to properly share. That set has all the variety nickels listed in the "Red Book" and a number of others in high grade mint state and nearly all have full steps. I have every proof. I even have the 1971 No S proof. I also have the complete set of business strike Buffalo Nickels. Yes, I have a 3 legged Buffalo, but ignored the 1918 over 17 and doubled die 1916. That set is also slabbed and graded or in capsules in a binder. Some are high grade unc and others are circulated. That's why I am The Nickel Guy I guess.
