  1. Very nice smallie but a pathetic, malnourished, juvenile pike.
  2. I just got these and think they are called leighton types and one is a horizonal the has about 6 or 8 twists to it . ( I got dizzy)
  3. I just got this one and consider it unique. Coke bottle green glass with a glob of glass at the bottowm which has been stretched upward in a columnar manner with empty core in the center of the column. The glass on the outside of this column is filled with minute air bubbles. Any others out there ??? At the top of the column there is a distinct "ghost' halo of very small bubbles.
  4. Purple on green ?????? They didn't make very many of those 'cause they are so ugly.............. smart guy to concentrate on CA's.
  5. Kokomo Opalescent Glass has its new website up for selling its recent Jabo run using KOG cullet. You can order individual mibs, a display box and even two different sized mesh bags. Web site is http://kogmarbles.com/
  6. He visited Indianapolis Childrens Museum a few years ago. They have a glass ceiling that is an under the sea scene. They also have one of his "horn" sculptures which is about 60 feet high. You lie on couches to view it. Worth the visit and $ 2 admission. Also, I was most impressed with a video of Dale helping a group of young kids with their artworks which were a kind of liquid paint on large pieces of paper
  7. Maybe I am wrong on that one. "in hand" I would be more sure. Here is my Kokomo box
  8. Sorry, but I would vote no on either one.
  9. They flouresce like crazy.
  10. If the base glass all smells the same they are all Kokomos. Were there any clear based mibs in the group ? The red on the clear, bubbly base glass is spectacular.
  11. This flock just flew out of my cupboard. I am partial to ones with orange on them.
  12. It is not his memory unfortunately. It is imagination from what others had told him. I still like Smitty's theory on method of manufacture. Does anyone have ideas as to why so many guineas have minute "rust" spots on them ?
  13. OK here are 3 big guinea pieces that definitly are part of a stream. All of the frit is smooth everywhere. Note on the end of the one piece there is a definite seam on the end. I like Smitty's idea on method of construction. Also, some one posted a pic of a great blue and orange cobra in one of the prior posts. It is spectacular !!!
  14. I would love to see a pic of that shard. I have some large pieces also but on all of them the frit is on the surface smooth as glass. Monday I will try to post a pic or two. One of them even has a nice seam on the end of it.
  15. Let's settle down here. At 1st I thought the bullet mold subject was irrelevant but now as I look at two of my transparent bullet molds I see a resemblance ( kind of ) Anyway here are two of my killer Czechs
  16. Hi Steph Yes, I have a fair sized CA collection and I am still seeing new stuff all the time - new colors, patterns and wierd constructions. Ken Humphrey
  17. Someone mentioned six nozzles being used. Judging by the size of these tiny specs and the huge blobs on these mibs, those nozzles must have really been something. And the precision with which they usually laid the specs right on the surface all the way around the marble is a precision I just can't understand. Big spots, little spots.
  18. I think you misunderstood him. Rather than being hand made like we think of, there was was some manipulation by hand done or hand manipulation if you will. Exactly what this manipulation was, I don't know but some how the frit had to be applied be fore the stream of glass was cut. That is my thinking, anyway. What made the frit stay in spot like shapes vs. stretched steaks is a whole nother question. Then, we have the matter of interior color to answer. I have heard different smart guys explain their theories but I still don't get it. As to your question of no seams, I think there has to be an invisible seam.
  19. How about a rather suggestive cobra.........
  20. Here is one you don't see too often, a big blob blue guinea.
  21. That was Dave McCullough in above post. Here is Ken Humphrey and KOG's John O'Donnell
  22. Here are some pics of the workforce. Ooops couldn't get more than two pics to load.
  23. I heard Kokoken was there assisting in the production and has pictures to prove it. Give me a day or so and I will post them. after I get permission form John O'Donnell.
  24. All are breathtaking, for sure. Thanks for sharing.
