This one is a mix. It has an internal yellow (tornado) corkscrew which is most visible in the second photo, and a white split snake along the surface. On a Rootbeer color base.

The dark blue Onyx really struck me because of the perfectly smooth glass, no bubbles, no striations, I love the way it looks. The green Onyx was listed as a Perfection when I purchased it, I have yet to research that and find out what exactly it is. The seller is absolutely solid and has an amazing Akro collection herself. Someday I might be as cool as she.

My favorite white based cork. I really like the deep blue with the black corkscrew. My camera doesn't pick it up, but there is a slim line of oxblood running over top of the black.

(grabbing the key for the mail box) Him: Going to check the marble box? Me: yep

Wow! Great boxes! .10 Oh to have a time machine, and I read that in Wimpy's voice lol "Quite a fascinating game, isn't it"?

I haven't seen the Peerless peewees, but I will search them out now . I think that is great speculation on the short run of Aces, too much white = opaque? Not enough white = above marble? I really like the mooney-type base with bubbles.

I thought this was an Ace from the photos, but no opalescence, ah well. I think it fits in well here.

I thought this one was unusual enough to add here, I love the color combination, would love to find more. The blue base is almost translucent. Light doesn't really pass through it but I can see where the edges of the orange sink into it.

New in the mailbox yesterday: A yellow Spiral in a dark Amber bubbly base and a brilliant orange on an almost translucent blue base.

I was looking at base glass comparisons in Akro. The Red Spirals have two distinct base glasses. The two on the left have a brushed on, blurry edged red snake along the surface and a bluish tint in the base. The two on the right have a very defined edge on the red spiral with a clearer, almost a very light opalescent base glass. The blue Spirals (Onyx and Augers) have five different base glass colors (that I own) I'm sure there must be more, but I found the variations pretty cool, darkest at the top to a very pale blue base at the bottom. The middle row is almost a periwinkle color. Fun, for me , to see the variances within Maker.

I bought this Vitro shooter from a blurry photo thinking it was an Akro cork with an unusual color combination. I love the eyelashes on that blue Winnie.

Wow- I can't stop looking at that one, it should have made production.

... If you have to move marbles out of the way on your desk to access your keyboard or mouse I sometimes carry a new marble with me to work also in one of those small velvet bags! Haha, glad to hear about others doing it as well.

Wow! Those are spectacular

Thanks Steph, I'm still not sure how I feel about repair on a marble, so maybe sometime in the future. But for now I really like the idea that my marbles are almost 100 years old, in whatever condition I receive them. Since your post, I've been thinking about my collection. I definitely have a tendency to Moss Agates and Spirals. I also try for the unusual ones (lose ALOT) but always fun. Most of my collection has been individual purchases. Once in awhile I'll do a "shot in the dark" lot purchase, like this last one. I could identify an orange tightline spiral in the bunch, but had no idea of condition or what else was there, it wasn't really a great photo, but always fun to anticipate what else might be in there, like this Sparkler, it was definitely a bonus

I haven't had McDonalds in forever, but I used to get the two cheeseburger meal, HAD to have Sweet and Sour sauce for the fries. everytime. Anyone else remember the Big Mac jinge? : Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onion on a sesame seed bun. That used to get stuck in my head for days
