Botchy. That is an excellent descriptive for these corks. I need a camera now only because the last update on my phone made it incompatible with my computer, it used to be an easy transfer from my phone camera to my computer, but now the computer doesn't "see" the photographs I've taken. Weird. But you are very correct, I wasn't thinking of a high priced camera, just something in the $100 range that possibly has a macro option, that would be great. If not, I can make do. The extra battery is a must! I used to take my photos with a digital camera, and when you're in that mode, and have the lighting just right, delays are very aggravating. That's awesome that you have three of these, they are unusual.

I know exactly what you mean, I love working on lighting John Now, .... if I could just get a real camera (and a tripod I suppose, and an extra battery). Maybe that will be on the list for today .... I don't think I've shared these two before, they were purchased probably five years apart, but look pretty similar. I like how the orange looks to be just sitting on top, it's almost like this orange didn't mix well with the base. Kind of hard to capture in a photograph.

Maybe not a specific maker, MAD may be a reference to a book maybe? I've looked at Marble Identification books but don't really see a title with that acronym. Was there a list that went with this collection? It could be a list with more details about the specific marbles, a catalog of sorts. Or maybe it's a reference to an auction where these marbles were purchased? MAD auction lot #40 ? I think you're right about the ADV = Aventurine, possibly GR=Green Just thoughts and guesses.

Thanks John!

I'm with these guys, they look like a snack! Cool little fact. My first thought when I saw them was those French Burnt Peanuts , tasty!

Fantastic mahogany cork up there John I don't think I've shared this one yet, it's pretty beat up, but it's the only green on that blue that I've been able to get my hands on.

Hi Ric, I have one that I think is similar! It's also 15/16", and I'm glad to see these here, I wasn't certain if mine was a Vitro or not

I was really surprised to see the oxblood in this old slag, kind of beat up, but this is the only one I have.
-
Definitely a quest!

I don't have many Peewees, but I did just recently acquire these handmade peewees, very happy with them ! 15/32"

That Oxblood cork with the contrasting white cork is amazing. and those light eyelashes!

A thought on looking through this thread again. I'd REALLY like to see a White Moss Agate. Has anyone seen one of those? I bet that would look spectacular.
-
LOL! John, I must have been staring so hard at those gorgeous yellow/green Moss Agates, I didn't even see what you wrote, until just now Tunnel vision Anyway, thank you.

In love with that second marble in the top row, Orange. Beautiful. Very nice group Al! I think I also see a little bit of fire in the orange, top row, far right.

These are fantastic! I especially like that Custard Pelt. And those eyelashes ^^^^ with Oxblood, wow. Here's my favorite Onyx (for today anyway lol) , most of the others I have, have much smaller bubbles.
-
John! That blue green mossy hybrid snake is dazzling! I could get lost in that marble....

Wow!! That green wispy corkscrew is fantastic! I have three, two orange-ish based and one yellowish base with that ghostly corkscrew. I'll have to look around, I hope I have more
-
This one is a mix. It has an internal yellow (tornado) corkscrew which is most visible in the second photo, and a white split snake along the surface. On a Rootbeer color base.

The dark blue Onyx really struck me because of the perfectly smooth glass, no bubbles, no striations, I love the way it looks. The green Onyx was listed as a Perfection when I purchased it, I have yet to research that and find out what exactly it is. The seller is absolutely solid and has an amazing Akro collection herself. Someday I might be as cool as she.

My favorite white based cork. I really like the deep blue with the black corkscrew. My camera doesn't pick it up, but there is a slim line of oxblood running over top of the black.
