Agree. All good points. And that is my go to as well Ric. For now, my collection is for me and I collect what I like, some of my favorites are far, far from pristine condition. What I love to find now are marbles that look like they were made in the same batch or very near to marbles that I already own, what a treat that is. I guess my reason for being here is to share my Akro photos for the new collectors, I get so much joy in finding the nuances in the color combinations.

A little late for Akro Friday, but here we go: 1. One of my favorite things is to see surface texture of the flow of the glass, but this surface texture seems to always come with annealing fractures. I think I could probably call this a Blood and Bones. 5/8" 2. A Spiral, a very light Blue on a very light Amber base, I found these two probably 12 years apart. 3. Red and Royal Blue, these two were not found together either, but they sure look like they were in the same batch. I love the intense color and larger size 3/4" 4. Canary Yellow and Blue corkscrew, the Blue is very thin and just on the surface, making it appear that the base glass is Blue, it is not, the base is clear glass. 19/32" 5. A harder to find baby Blue Snake 6. This one looks nothing like the marbles in photo 3, but also a Red and Blue cork, I like to see the differences between same color Akro marbles. 5/8" I like your idea about explaining Art, I did my best here. Recording off the radio, dedicating songs, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, lace and leather. I was a really sappy 80s kid, but then I loved Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, and Metallica. And when cassette singles came out, I thought that was the coolest thing.

Blue and Blue, White, and clear, technically it could be a Popeye, there is some wispy White. 21/32" 4. Green and true Black Special 5/8" 5. Orange, Green, and Cobalt Popeye 5/8"

That is the coolest double ingot I have ever seen! 😲

Thank you! That Blue, I know what you're talking about and I've thought in the past that the blue must be in between color changes in the glass, maybe it is, but why always a dark inky Blue? These four have some variation of it. Fun to consider.

That dark Green one, wow!! And two Yellow! And that dark Maroon! Very nice collection, all together like that, amazing.

Thank you, I don't think I have either. There are at least two votes for MK, two for Vitro, and one for Akro. With one down vote for Vitro, MK, and Akro. I'm still not sure what to call them, other than a really cool Orange and Purple patch. At first, I honestly thought possibly Akro for the Purple and Lavender colors and that gorgeous Ornage, but then Vitro for the V pattern and possibly a window, and then Peltier for that weird loop pattern on the top right marble.

I don't have a whole lot of Pelts to contribute to this conversation, but I do have Akros 😆 A couple years ago, I was curious about the corkscrew formation delta, whether there were more made of one direction. So I lined up my larger size corks and here were my results. Counterclockwise on the left, clockwise on the right (the marble in the middle is just a size reference 5/8"). FWIW And now I want to dig out all the Spirals and sort based on spin direction.

That is a really cool Ox patch Charlie. Agree on Akro. What size is it? It looks like a bigger size.

Four Orange Spirals on a bubbly UV base 5/8" (bottom right marble is pretty beat up, but still cool imo) 5. Green on Orange Prize Name 19/32" (my favorite thing about this mib is that you can see the outline of the cork in the Orange glass) 6. Green Onyx, a larger size at 3/4" 7. Two Red and Brown on translucent base 15/16" Happy Akro Friday y'all.
