  1. Gonna have to agree with the Marbdog on this one. Edna you are just way too transparent. You say you wish Jabo well but you call all the runs since Dave left, crap. I doubt very much you have seen hardly anywhere near all the the types and styles of all the runs since Dave was kicked out. The only reason you brought this auction to the board was to take a slam at the sellers. So just keep praising and posting the Sammy marbles and slamming the ones from Jabo, we get it. I will just keep not liking any of them(LOL)
  2. Unknowing only if they did not contact the seller, which is what this add intimates should be done. How else would one find out the particulars. I think the add did plenty to bring attention to the run. And your posting provided much unsolicited free advertisement." Winning" (LOL) QUOTE FROM ADD "I will gladly answer any questions you may have just message by Ebay
  3. Happy to know I am appreciated. But the tons of thanks I got for calling you out on that earlier auction was more than enough!
  4. And that may be why it was layed out the way it was. Only very interested folks would respond.
  5. I personally do not believe them to be 100 years old. They were still making cane cut marbles and sulphides in the early 30s and I believe these came after the cane cuts. Gosh Ronnie, all I had to go by was the marble you got from Scott, polished, sold on ebay and did not disclose. Glad you are doing things different now.
  6. Anyone spending that kind of money for anything on ebay should be contacting the seller with all kinds of questions. In this auction you have noted some excellent questions that should be asked of the seller. It is quite possible some folks do not want their names and information posted in an ebay add. That why they have the contact seller button
  7. Contacting the seller would be the best way to get info.
  8. I would not put much validity to those dates of manufacture. Hope they do not hit ebay with out full disclosure of being polished.
  9. Yes I am one of the weird ones. I have often sold my favorites to get other favorites. There is only one marble in my collection I would have a real hard time parting with.(I do not believe there is one better) All the others have a price as I enjoy the hunt and dealings as much or more than the marbles.
  10. And I doubled up to a full order last year!!!!!!!!!!! Just like the picture!!!!!! That is usually split for 2 people. Out of control at the Crab Pot (LOL)
  11. BEWARE BEWARE It looks like I may be seeing a lot of polish action also./ Also I just sold a mint one(same size) identical to e1 for $250.00
  12. Never wanted or expected anything from anyone I helped learn this wonderful Hobby. I have provided quite a few free marbles to Newbies as learning tools and I have done that with only one request. Please pass on the knowledge and the marbles when the time is right. PLAY IT FORWARD FOLKS< IT IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL: And as with Edna I have been lucky enough to see some folks I helped early on accumulate some out of this world collections. mi·ser noun \ˈmī-zər\ Definition of MISER: a mean grasping person; especially : one who is extremely stingy with money See miser defined for English-language learners » See miser defined for kids » Examples of MISER<the miser liked to sit and play with his money> Origin of MISERLatin miser miserableFirst Known Use: circa 1560 Related to MISERSynonyms cheapskate, churl, hunks, niggard, penny-pincher, piker, scrooge, skinflint, tightwad
  13. there will be some that disagree but I still find it very hard to believe that large amounts of marbles and cullet would have been transported from one marble company to another. It was useless material. That is why it was dumped.
  14. And what proof they are Akro?
  15. Bob, It doesn't look real good when someone that does auctions starts slamming another auction house. Wouldn't want folks bringing up the past now would we? Just some food for thought. You may want to leave this stuff up to jerks like myself(LOL)
  16. I wonder if they might stop some of the BS if everyone that got an over graded marble sent it back. And I wonder if a poll was taken from all buyers, how many felt their purchases were over graded. An if short on time why is it they get over graded instead of under graded???????????????/
  17. And if true, pretty sad way to run a business. It is only the buyer that gets screwed with an overgraded marble. And truth be told probably 9 out of 10 buyers won't bother with returning or trying to return an over graded marble. Many marble sellers know that and use that fact in their dealings. It is all about $$$$
  18. Why on earth would they offer 700 marbles in a single auction in the first place. Oh yea to pad their pockets and not give a damn about what it is doing to the price of marbles. (driving them into the basement).
  19. Time for a short Rant. I used to support the Morphy Auction but lately I refuse. Lousy Pics, Grading issues, Way too many marbles in each auction(only benefits Morphy and a few buyers. Driving marble prices into the basement for many types) I feel they are doing a dis-service to the hobby(why take marbles to a show when you can just send them to Morphy) Gpoing to shows and taking marbles to sell that will not be at the next show Etc Etc. I know of several very unhappy sellers and it seems the only one really smiling is Dan with his 35-40% income on every marble sold.
