  1. Very Contemporary IMO. I have seen several new marbles nearly identical to this one. I even have a similar marble. The easily seen surface ridges would mean the marble has not been polished. It does lookm rather poorly made IMO.
  2. It seems so obvious to me I im amazed everyone does not see it immediately. Guess I must just be a little more off than most(LOL) as your not the first that did not see it. This should help
  3. I have heard of (and seen) a colored layer added on top of the clear but never heard of (or seen)another layer of clear over the colored on the new redoes.
  4. On a burnt the brown ribbons sit on top of the red is what I have been shown. Not seperated to the side.
  5. We have the Joker and new found(but long overlooked)Penguin on the same marble. While at the Canton show I had shown the Joker like face on my CAC marble and she was mildly amazed. A short time later she asked if I knew ther was also a penguin on the marble. I was stunned as she turned the marble slightly and there was a near perfect penguin head coming out of the Jokers chin.
  6. I lived in a home in Arcata Ca,(3rd oldest in town) that had newspapers glued to the inside of the exterior walls with civil war battle accounts as some of the stories. We tried everything we could to remove some of them with no luck. So we just left some of them exposed to the inside and it was a pretty neat look.
  7. Very neat find for that part of the country.
  8. I have no idea whats going on, but I must be doing something right when I can even find a yellow, lavender and pink mixed in with my slags!!!! Although I think my partial color blindness may have had something to do with that.
  9. Winnie, that marble does have some pink in it.
  10. It is one bad boy for sure!! Going out today Mike, thanks for letting me have a close look!
  11. Another made up name(Blue Devil is a CAC marble) to increase value of an Ebay sale.
  12. Sorry Rich, none came from your show. I did get them in Canton and from some knucklehead back in Ohio after I got home from your show. Thanks Mike! And the first one I found in my marbles mixed in with the slags!! Now thats a great find!!
  13. That pic sure looks like spring Winnie!
  14. Lets all hope everything works out. Just worked through bladder cancer in my 86 year old father and he is now cancer free. So keep a healthy outlook!!
  15. Everything, Patch colors, structure, glass quality etc. They are fairly common and have been found at the Akro site in abundance
  16. Not like any of the newer Chinese handmades I have seen.
  17. BJ, that seller knows his mibs better than most. If one of them is in that bunch I would bet it is a beater
  18. first marble auction was a Vacor but I have see a transparent Liberty
  19. Don't be in a hurry, is the best advice I ever heard for marble collectors. Save the coins for an example you will always be happy to have. Then there is no problem trying to unload the damaged ones and you will always be proud and satisfied with the one you have. Just my thought on the subject.
