lstmmrbls
One of my few good brain storms. I always thought it a great explanation as why a great flood story is prevalent in many ancient cultures.
Hoody
Sounds plausible - and much more plausible as some scientifics.

kbobam
'Apple', specifically the 'green' variety has ticked me off for some years now. At some point many candy manufacturers who make assortments of fruit-flavored candies decided that 'green apple' should be a staple. And dropped one of the 'classic' flavors to include it. Same thing with watermelon. I want my green candy to be lime and my red to be cherry, dammit! ( :

Steph
I used to play hooky from school to go buy apples and eat them in the park while I read novels. But for pie filling I can't make up my mind.
kbobam
Cherry pie is a little more interesting than apple. But if you 'up the ante' and make an Apple Brown Betty, I'll go with that. And I can't help wondering what percentage of people like having a slice of cheese on their apple pie. As much as I like cheese, this combination makes no sense at all to my taste-buds. But, as we've already determined elsewhere, we're all quite different when it comes to 'taste'. ( :
ann
For pies, apple. I've wondered about that cheddar-on-apple-pie thing. Never tried it. Have a hard time thinking about the two together, somehow . . . For plain old fruit, cherries. Preferably black. Don't like the skin on fresh apples, or the hissy consistency of the flesh . . . lstmmrbls
Cheese and Pie do not belong on the same plate. Apple skins are bitter to me, as discussed in an earlier thread long ago, it is hereditary. Look it up. I believe 1 in 4 people have the bitter gene. Ric
Apple pie without the cheese is like a kiss without the squeeze - at least that's what I've heard.
kbobam
My dad felt similarly passionate about pizza and anchovies. To him, it wasn't really pizza without them. When I was eight I thought he was insane. These days I can take or leave them, but every once in a while something like this here looks like the 'Food of the Gods' to me. Steph
I say "better you than me" to anyone who wants to play around with the big bugs. I'm okay with crickets and grasshoppers and roly polies. Okay, maybe a few others. But mostly bug people can enjoy themselves far away from me.
