budwas
I just bought these. I know the clips are very old style. And there looks to be a cut line on the top left side of the left marble. What do you all think?
Steph
My first thought is "fried marbles". Clearies. They were a big fad in the 1960's. But maybe I'm wrong and that will turn out to be something more interesting inside.
budwas
I thought of that possibility but after looking at fried marble pictures and knowing the clips are older I just had to have them. If there fried the I'll give then to my grand daughter. Lol
Steph
I hear ya. The fried marble pix I've been looking at look more fractured and reflective. Here's hoping they turn out to be a treasure.
budwas
Lol, I do this to myself often. I buy something and then have to wait two or three weeks to go home and see them. It's nerve racking! Lol
ManofKent
Those clips look like torture devices Has anyone tried frying marbles?
budwas
Haha. Yes they look like they would hurt We fried marbles when we were kids. Just get them hot in a frying pan then dump them in ice water. It's kinda fun!

machinemades
I am seeing some facets on the red glass. Could it be very early glass with mica hand cut to sphere earlier than handmade marbles? Please let us know when you get them.
budwas
Machinemades, here is another pic. I'm not seeing any facets. What are you looking at? Although the one on the left seems to be out of round and the surfaces texture is interesting. I'll have the little woman send better pics when they are delivered.
