Steph
The flat side looked like it could be the end of a textile bobbin. But with the bowl shape on the other side, I don't currently have a guess. If it was a bobbin, I'd say the 10-52 meant it was made in October of 1852. William
The last cool shell casings I have were from an AH-64 Apache helicopter that were fired during Operation Desert Storm. They might still be packed away around here somewhere (I hope). Yours is pretty cool. If it's the correct light gun, 70ibs and 13 nautical miles range? Looked into it a little more, check out the USS Sherman. Guns I think matching the specs on that casing were mounted on its deck. Nice info there. I'llhavethat1
Cool, I recognized is a shell casing since I got a similar one that somebody converted to an ashtray. I thing the middle had a .50 cal shell that had a lighter built inside. It's packed away somewhere.
