Thanks Chad I'm glad you like them. I'm typically a machinemade collector but I have a few handmades. I'm not familiar with the names. So if you guys out there do know the names of some these, if they have names, I would appreciate the help. ☺️

One of my favourite sets - 11/16" Josephs in great condition on a beautifully carved board.

Fantastic marbles David, coats are my favorites, the board is a great addition to a perfect set   Just a sidenote, how many coats have you noticed w/ aventurine. ??  And what is your ratio of coats @ 1" or bigger ?? Just curious what you have on your side of the pond

Good question, I'm curious as well. Aventurine in German handmades is few and far between.  Most likely incidental.  Your example above is excellent.  What's the size?

The  ridged solid core is just a hair under 3/4" I have quite a few coats w/ av in them. I'll post some next Thursday. Well I guess I can post one now before I forget, this one is nearly @ one inch, has av. in several bands not only in the green, yes it is my favorite :)

And another, a lot more sparse on this one and only in a couple of the green ribbons, Oop!! almost forgot, right around 11/16ths

Good question Chad. I have around 150 Josephs Coats - none has AV and they're all 9/16" to 11/16". But that's because they're all in solitaire sets -probably all original sets. The set in my post is 11/16".

After the last 4 Thursdays of Josephs Coat boards this last offering just sneaks in this week. 11 Josephs Coats and 22 swirls. I've always been pretty sure its original because the glass colours are consistent and the 11/16" size and ground pontil finishes. So probably a later period board I was lucky enough to find in the UK 25 years ago.
