akroorka
What? A black slag? No, it is a purple slag that eats up light like no other that I have. It cannot be backlit, it refuses any penetration of light. I believe it to be a hand-gathered machine made. It has a nice tail. Who made it? I would just be guessing. Marble--On!! James Leighton was known for melted pontil marbles made in Navarre and Barberton, and other places in Ohio, in the late 1800s. Sometimes these types are simply referred to as Leighton's but based on pattern or color, a particular location can be sometimes be inferred. This green is usually associated with Barberton. Other types are commonly associated with Navarre.

It'd be interesting to know how they make these patterns, which are fairly common on newer Chinese marbles.
