Thanx you guys. I don’t have a lot of MKs. I’ve been sorting out all the transparent base glass marbles. Are there examples of early transparent MKs you guys have ?

Think this is one ✌

Not many early transparent Marble Kings marbles other than Cat Eyes.  The early Marble King Rainbows are opaque base.

The one just above is a newer MK Blue Boy.  Same thing with clear base (not blue tint) is Clear Boy.

All marbles pictured above are from the later Marble King Paden City WV location.  The marbles are probably from maybe late 1980's more likely the 1990's.  Which is later and newer for Marble King who stated in 1949.

Paden City WV

A cap which Beri gave me a few years back.

Next is Marble King factory today at Paden City WV.  On the left is Beri Fox Marble King owner and manager. Felica Delp of PA on the right.  Beri was named after her godfather Berry Pink. Berry Pink was the most famous and well known marbles promotor in history.   The picture behind them is the original oil painting, Normal Rockwell playing marbles.

Who knows what that original oil painting is worth.  Beri has a semi box trailer full of paperwork from Berry Pinks office in NY. She got all his office furniture plus his large safe which has never been opened since he died. Berry Pink was good friends with Roger Howdyshell who managed and finally owned Marble King. Roger Howdyshell was the father of Beri Fox. Her godfather was Berry Pink.  Marble King Co. still yet today is the very long time sponsor of the yearly National Marble Tournament at Wilwood NJ.  Marble King is the only steady producer of any American toy marbles today.  Beri sells and ships MK marbles world wide. Beri is a big promotor of made in America.  She was invited to the white house in DC a few years ago concerning, made in America.

The Rockwell is definitely a 6-7 figure  amount. In other words priceless in my opinion. I guess some of my art history in College might have an influence on my estimate on the painting. Collectors have been going NUTZ and paying high dollar for painting during the pandemic.

I hope Beri can keep Marble King in operation for a few more years.  Each year it is more difficult and she like many of us now, has health issues.

I hope that someone or a group of marble lovers find a way to keep this history alive.
