Flowers And Gardens

Gosh, I could post photos for days of just last year.  So many photos.  Summer is a busy time for me.  Here are some random photos of my garden, chickens, flowers, yard, and my outdoor bunny that comes and eats cheerios from my hand.  Her name is Cheerio.  She disappears in the winter months, but she comes back every spring.  In the mornings, she will be waiting at my backdoor for some honey nut cheerios.

Missed out last year because of my absence from the forum, but trust me, the garden was stellar! This year's goodies...not tagged are the pumpkins and squash. Also my lone Habenero.

The first pic was the back garden. This one is the middle garden. I've also got the winter squash, like the watermelon, in their own patch for more running room.

A big change since May 25th! Getting excited as all the Annuals and Perennials are starting to really take off and the Veggies are going nuts. Just had a good, early morning rain for a few hours to be followed by hea and humidity today. Plants will like it but some of us, not so much!

I'll start out with the in-ground Perennial's, then some of the potted Annual's, then the Veggies 👍😎

I’m battling 1-3 inches of weed cloth in my yard where the previous owner totally dry scraped the entire yard with this cr@p. So here’s the exposed dirt I’ve been able to expose to the sun and rip the stinking weed cloth out. Weed cloth is bad sh!t. 🔥

Man, that's a lot of work. That stuff is tough to rip up, especially after it's been in place for many years. Feeling ya there! It's going to be so sweet when you reap the rewards of a new sanctuary area. I can just imagine some of the things I would do!

Looking forward to future pictures!

June 16th through June 29th, quite the difference! The middle garden is a little slower this year than usual, but I expect a surge here soon...the watermelon is always slow at first (in the stone ring)....but out back?

The Winter squash is taking off along the fence rather quickly and the back garden?

Boom! Exploded. Literally. Jumanji indeed.

I can hear the drums already...

Dayang!!

I got a super late start on veggies this year.    No explosions.  But I finally got some veggie plants  in the ground.  AND ... I have flowers!!!  So very new to me.  Pretty simple for now.   But foxgloves and lupines and bellflowers and milkweed and and and ....

Good Job Steph!

Simple is the best way for sure.

Sweet peppers and fresh off the the vine Tomatoes are will blow you away taste wise.

Rabbits are the culprits here in WI right now, they are peaking in the cycle that they follow.

Thet do not go to waste here--the Rabbits, they feed many baby Crows and Vultures--after I am done with them.

I just love a good Crow or Vuture picking up after me and the bad things that must be done:character-smileys-238:.

Yeah, and they are big. Up to a 5 inch wingspan. They can hover like hummingbirds and are super acrobatic when in flight. I remember now last year actually seeing one in the front, well heard it first. Flew in and "drank" from the flowers. Wish I would have had my phone on me!

Stopped by there in Spring Grove today after work to give my brother in law a hand and there it was, same vines by his back door chomping on the leaves. I was only there for about 30 minutes but fat thing at 2 giant leaves in that time.

Named him Clyde
