Fire1981
Oxblood always seems to be a border line ID with a lot of different marbles. If I was to list this one for sale would it be an Alley Oxblood🔥
PittsburghMarbles
I’ve always thought these were Akro, but what do I know? Was just looking at an alley book I have and there does appear to be an alley ox just like this (although with the pic provided I can’t tell if it’s ox or not, (it does say amber and not Oxblood in the description), which means I’ll have to re-evaluate all of my Akro Oxblood swirls)). I thought alley only made Oxblood swirls with a blue and white opaque glass base (2nd pic).
Fire1981
I was going to include Akro Milkies in this ID I just didn’t think the Oxblood matched up with the few I have🔥
PittsburghMarbles
These are all the Oxblood swirls I have with my akros, now I’m second guessing myself on some. Wasn’t aware that alley also made opaque milk glass Oxblood swirls. Most came from one jar I found at an antique store about a year ago.
chicagocyclist
This is an area that I am really interested, so this is good. The bottom grouping definitely looks like Akro Oxblood to me, if my brain is properly engaged this early. That top one Alley but then again with oxblood it can be tricky to tell it by photographs. The base glass appears to be different as well in the original post.
marblenewbie
Wondering what the book you showed came from, Pittsburgh. Is it available for sale anywhere?

Fire1981
So is the finally consensus that my marble is an Akro Oxblood 🔥
akroorka
I would not sort yours as an Akro Fire. I would look for other answers just like you are--I do not have them. Marble--On!!
cheese
I think the first one is similar to some Alleys but the cuts look Akro. I'd probably have it with Akros. Chris, I think your handful is Akros for the most part but the one that jumps out as probably Alley is the one near the tip of your pinky finger.
