Steph
My thumbnails aren't working now. I need to change the code. Sources of pix are included when I know them. Here is a stupendous Ravenswood thread: Ravenswood Novelty Marbles - A Review Of Varieties Next, a catalog with Buddy bags, Paul Bunyans, and Assorted Colors. Polyethylene bags. Leader boxes. Also note the Buddy box in the pic, similar but not identical to the assorted colors box in the catalog. (click to enlarge) And close-ups of the bag which was sold with them: (click to enlarge) (source) Note: There may be other Ravenswood pix in the links here: Compilation: Original Packaging Links: Ravenswood Novelty Works
Steph
Don't know if the marbles are Ravenswood, but here's an Assorted Colors box like the ones they call "Our Leader" in that catalog. This is the 30 marble size. (click to enlarge)

Steph
Lesser known Ravenswood packaging:(source)Ron's comments about it: From my info and indications, yes. Those are all Ravenswood marbles. The green/white marble in the center looks some unusal, does it glow? The large one is a Paul Bunyan. A good percentage, maybe 40% of this type bags has a Paul Bunyan in the bag. Some people say not done by Ravenswood Novelty but why would someone else go to the trouble of using nothing but or all Ravenswood marbles and Paul Bunyan marbles in fake bags. These bags are not that expensive. I have seen more of this type locally around Ravenswood than ones with the Ravenswood Novelty name on the header. I have and had these with the brown base Ravenswoods inside. I sold one to a local Ravenswood collector with a cobalt blue and brown base plus a emerald green and brown base, with the yellow and red Paul Bunyan. Why would someone put the better or best Ravenswood marbles in a fake bag? Notice the spelling! Source of that discussion: This was labeled "old fashioned"Al's Old Fashion bag from that thread, for when attachments are purged, which occasionally happens:Additional comments from Ron: What Can You All Tell Me About This? cheese
Tan base, like a very light coffee. They can have a little white striated in the base too, but these don't.

Steph
I'm starting to get a good feel for Alleys I think, so now I'm ready to start learning Ravenswoods. I do have some to take pix of.
Steph
Disappointment. Wanted to help John generate content and hunted up the box I thought was Ravenswood ... and it's not ... not close. I KNOW I have a supposedly Ravenswood package around here somewhere but since that wasn't it, I can't remember where I put it. grrrr.

Steph
Would like to see the texture on those black-ish ribbons. I'm pretty sure I thought of those as Alley. Come to think of it, I woulda thunk this one I posted earlier was Alley. I guess I have Alley-itis.
JerryG
I've posted this elsewhere, but I really should post here on Steph's Study Hall. Matched color set of Ravens. Rows 2,4 and 6 are browned based Ravens. 2 and 6 have green swirls and 4 has blue swirls.
