  1. Beautiful Marbles Dave...hope to get some of the new Jabo's soon! P.S. Great Pics
  2. I got this for what I think is an extremely good price. I am looking for some guidance from the sulphide experts on this one. It measures 2 1/8" which I know is a Rarer size for Sulphides. The figure inside is of a child reading a book, which I believe is also a less common figure. There are some shallow chips and moons as you can see depicted in the pictures, but overall it is in very good condition. I am not a collector of Sulphide's so I will probably part ways with this one to help fund my trip to the Kansas City Show.I am looking for what you feel feel that fair market value is given it's size, condition, and rarity. Thanks for the help!
  3. Absolutely beautiful marble! That's 3 months mortgage for me, lol.
  4. Sweet Finds! They can certainly still be had in the wild.
  5. Gorgeous examples everyone! I love handmades! Here are a few of mine....
  6. Here's too a happy retirement!!! I have certainly enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful marbles that you have helped to create over the years!
  7. Edna, where are these available?
  8. I have found that pink marbles are very good sellers. Sincerely, John I think that Pink has become a much more desirable and far more accepted than it once was. It is now fashionable for both men and women too proudly wear Pink, and I believe that freedom is also represented in other items such as Marbles.
  9. Thanks for showing, there are certainly some beautiful marbles coming out of those new runs!
  10. Ok, that makes sense. Is there any paperwork that indicates how many runs of sparklers were produced over the period of time that Akro was a functioning marble mecca? If so that would enlighten us as too the potential even more so. Alan, if you don't me asking, how much were you able to pick up that example for?
  11. Assuming that your guys hypothesis is correct, what would be a good presumption of the number of these aventurine sparklers that were produced. 50-100 or far less before all the aventurine was picked up off the rollers by the molten hot sparklers? And Dani...your's is amazing!
  12. Edna, I have decided over the course of the past few months to collect specifically Akro and Jabo and a few 1" plus handmades. That doesn't mean I won't keep a few examples from other brands that I am fond of but I will focus on the others. I have 3 Red Vitro Helmets myself. Those will not be going anywhere as I am especially fond of them, and received one of them from a great board member! If you are interested in any my other Vitros they are all available as I pear down. Just send me a pm if you are interested. And by the way, your Vitro collection is simply AMAZING!!!!!! :4Party:
  13. Here are some additions.... Vitro Helmets 99% Tiger Eyes and parakeets Elites and Tri-Elites Opals Bullseye and Bullseye Types Enjoy the pics...and they are all going to Ebay as I am liquidating my Vitro collection:(
  14. Great thread Edna, I will try and make some contributions tomorrow!
  15. Steph thanks for linking the story! I am going to post the Alox Pictoral history shortly with more pics...some of which you have probably seen. Jill, if your friend would like to part company with some or all of those I would be willing to trade or purchase them. I am beginning to think that pursuing a large collection of Alox Marbles is in my future..being that I am from St. Louis and all!
  16. Joe and Steph it was a real treat! Jack just had hip surgery so I met him at the hospital...Really nice man, and in good spirits too boot. Nancy is a great women as well and is just a wealth of Alox information. I had no idea that they were as diversified as they were when it came to children's toys and such. I have some pictures and things that I will post on the boards...probably tomorrow when I have more time!
  17. I have got more where that came from. I met with Jack Frier Jr. and Nancy Frier(former owners of Alox) on Friday and came away with Gobs of cool info and such. More too come.....
  18. Great examples and tutorial Roger!
