Well after loking for the last three hours........ i found one!!!!! it's a hair under 11/16" not as heavey of ox as yours, but lots of clear and internal action! I love it, & hope you will too!!!!! maybe tomorrow you can shoot it for the board!

This is the best reply of all posible. i will only add; will it be a waist of our time to inform ebay of this obvious criminal? Thanks Bill for showing us the real Guinea and agree with you & Galen whole heartedly on this topic. i don't need no stinking provenance, to tell me just what the real deal is!!!
-
Hi Andrea it reads and i quote; "first i've never seen a CAC 3/4" s/o" guess i may have spelled it out Striped Opaque instead of s/o. well?
-
IMHO Mark's marble looks more real than the mib in question! the mib in question, look at the bleeds the red into yellow & yellow into red. real CAC marbles just don't do that, no bleeds the colors stay separate! the cut lines & colors are wrong! thanks Galen, i'd like to see & own a real one too! Andrea i also have had a 23/32" real Guinea & seen a 3/4" real Guinea. i also have CAC swirls & other CAC mibs 7/8" and over! a CAC swirl is not a CAC Striped Opaque, do you understand the difference? Ken, from your view; sweet striped opaque, and a real bargain! now from my view; geeze wish i could teach these people with a lot of money, just what a fake marble is, sorry you bought this fake, & still think it's real Ken! i know that you're a nice guy who ott to know better! when you support these thieves, they just keep shoveling more sh--!!!

first i've never seen a CAC 3/4" s/o, have you Galen? looks like a Carl Fisher from here! thanks for pointing this thief out!
-
WOW!!!!! Dani i just Love those yellows!!!! i bet if you & Ernie lived in Clarksburg the Hardy's would not have the largest collection of Akro!!!!
-
can't believe nobody else knows, as i know it's been posted before! 1 or 2 years ago Tim Gentilozzi bought the rights to dig the Akro site. he went through the place with a back-hoe and screens. before that it was illegal to dig there. that does not prevent it, just made it so they dug at night under tarps with a lantern. Roger & Claudia Hardy were probably the first to dig, don't even think it was illegal when they started digging! The Hardy's started the Akro Agate club and have the largest collection of Akro Agate in the world. think that was told after Tim was done they were going to pave it over, don't know if that ever happened, but am pretty sure the digs are done. i do know this; Akro probably disgarded more marbles than all the other marble factories combined. that tells me they were proud of their products, and quality controll was a must!

Larry was my mentor and real secretive when it came to marbles and marble ID! Being one of the first to write a marble book, (maybe the first machine-made book) i think he did not want any to know more than he on the subject of marbles! that is all he told me; "it is an early Ohio marble." i really do not know any more about these mibs. Maybe Brian Grahm that Ohio guy will weigh in.
-
i wil say ditto to what Galen says. Very Good!
-
got 3 of those from running rabbit's Dick Marshall collection. showed to Larry Castle he thought they were early Ohio marbles. i interpeted that as meaning Payne, Ohio. picked up a couple since. they are uncommon, the ones i have are all 3/4" to 13/16" and all have that crimped folded look on the surface.

German just as DanS said but you know that! Circa 1840 to 1860 Specially Love these mibs! Hey Bill, you got the best looking one i've seen, yes you romanoak! if you ever sell it please give me first dibs! Please if reading show us a bunch of pics, you know the one! Teal blue base with eggyolk & oxblood!

Love thosemibs Dani!!!! They are in fact the first glass marbles mass-produced, also some of the best looking most interesting! Think one of thede is yours now....
-
Craig must of seen it like i did. posted this on another board yesterday; seen that too, also thought does not look right! Not a brick, don't even think it's Akro. Looks like one of those blue/red/brown CAC striped opaques, Les was selling in the late 90's, got that electric dot thing goin on. if Dani says Akro it may be though. have to have in hand to tell.
