  1. here is another neat one, also 11/16ā€. Loaded with brick speckles.
  2. Thanks Gladys. I am on the fence with that one, was thinking it could be AKRO.
  3. Fun score, 2 ziplock bags. nothing high$, just lots of goodies. the partial tray is all master, the second is everyone else. Weird there wasn’t a single cork in either bag.
  4. Another at 11/16ā€. Looks like a close cousins to Gladys’?
  5. Looks like a clear, albeit bubbly, base. regardless, the photo is A1+++.
  6. AKRO, Peltier, Lutz maybe someone has close-ups of the sharp edges on exposed bubbles?
  7. Time to show what ya got. Many years ago I had a group polished, can’t remember by who. All makers and types. Enjoyed them for a while, then sold them at a antique show as polished. New owner planned on selling them on eBay… my polished Peltier Xmas tree went from red to orange, apparently a tell for Pelts? AKRO corks always seemed to end up weird… Polished german handmades are usually easy to spot, but not always. will post some later tonight.
  8. Didn’t buy it, was looking to though. Before reality set in.
  9. Got my hands on it, 2-3/8ā€ polished.😢
  10. Thanks Ron. Yep, need to get it in my hands. Will keep you updated.
  11. I remember a post saying anything over 2-3/8ā€ is extremely rare, and $$$. Will hunt for it..
  12. I have not had it in hand to verify the size yet…
  13. Had to add this one🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a deal!!! https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/atq/d/battle-ground-swirls-marbles/7465786241.html
  14. The idea that there are other people who just ā€œhappenā€ to carry random marbles around in their pockets gives hope that I’m not weird. I have carried a coprolite as a pocket talisman for years. Got it from my grandfather, a geologist.
  15. I never get stuck in a hotel… I always research where I’m going, with Craigslist and local antique stores. Made some awesome buys while working away from home. I’ve ā€œtrainedā€ my wife to do the same, she comes up with some incredible finds.
  16. This one has been listed in Seattle for maybe 2+ years. https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/clt/d/pahrump-marbles-sulfide-spheres/7449342455.html
  17. I have met with many on Craigslist for marbles and other items. Educating them is pointless, as they claim they saw similar sales on feebay. It can get depressing😢
  18. https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/atq/d/portland-21-rare-antique-german-marbles/7458603681.html I won’t be the one educating them…
  19. Yep, there’s a lot of copperplated 43 steelies out there too.
  20. We used to take copper Pennys and ā€œsoakā€ them in mercury, making them look like steel. Not sure what a non-43 steelie would be worthšŸ¤”. and yes, we broke open old thermometers, and played with the mercury in our hands. My third eye now needs cataract surgery🤣🤣🤣
