  1. Maybe i don't understand this thread well, but i believe Ronnie's marble and my marble are old and dug in Germany. This thread was about Ronnie's marble,he asked if we knew that some of them had a Guinea look. Those modern bullet mold marbles don't look at all like the old dug in Germany bullet mold marbles, the glass is different too. Heres a pic- of the new ones.
  2. I'm glad someone has the guts to tell, that if you're not careful you can easily get a bad buy on Ebay, there's nothing wrong with. Here's a bullet mold type that was dug in Germany together with handmades.
  3. Roger, did you found them already?? I wonder if they are made in other colors.
  4. Steph, stupid me it's 1890. I'm not able to change it in the opening post.

  7. Was on vacation in Normandy and Picardie in France, visit the glassmuseum in Blangy-sur Bresle. An employee has done some research in the archief of the museum and told me,there has been made hand made marbles from 1890 till the WW11,and after the war there have been made lots of machiene made marbles. This link shows some info about the history of the glass plants in this area. http://www.la-glass-vallee.com/en/the-glass-valley/historical/history Here are some pic- of the museum.

  10. Thats what i thought Galen,i know CAC has made the most beautiful flames but i have not seen them with a transparant base, here's an Alley that i got from you,it resembles the second from the top right. Griff, thats a deep wine red color. Sure would like to see those Champion transp- flames.
  11. Bob said that it was even appealing to us testosterone-laden knuckle-dragging types LOL i never knew a color could bring in men that cause. Yes thats the marble. Mike that shows it well.
  12. When i looked today at my EU transp- flame swirls,i realized that excluding Alley, there are not made many of them in the US, or am i wrong....,if so,please show them.
  13. You got it all from close experience, thats so cool. We were dependent on the radio, not the national radio but the so called "pirate radio stations",there we heard the new music that came from America, that was in the late 50s a sort of music revolution.

  21. Socialist era but it was a communism regime from 1947 till 1989. I think the add asks for marbles from that time. It remains quesswork but it's possible they have made marbles at that time, and the Bulgarians found out that the Americans pay big money for marbles, just a thought........ It says nothing but most of the "Bulgarian"marbles i've never seen before. If we know so little about German marbles, how on earth could we know something about Bulgarian marbles.
