  1. It's always nice when you can find multiple sizes of the same pattern too:
  2. There are all kinds of great threads in the archives . . . Here are some newer Alleys from St. Mary's:
  3. Nice marbles, I'm pretty sure the right one is Alley and the left may be too, but I'm getting a bit of a Champion vibe from that one.
  4. Alleys are great marbles. And since I see a couple of Sistersville marbles in your group, I'll start by referring folks to a post I made a few years ago:
  5. Cool - which planet is that?
  6. A bit of an oddball, sort of looks like a double ingot, not a strong Pelt vibe though, more like Alley.
  7. From this view it looks like it has some clear in it?
  8. It might be, but from this one view, I wouldn't count on it. As an aside, I don't think Pelt collectors today would call that color combination a John Deere.
  9. Indian Blanket colors - a little odd looking though.
  10. Well, if you think it's a marble - yes. If you think it's a hand-made - no. 😉 I assume you're talking about the green base - kinda hard to tell what it is from the single view, what are you thinking? The other marbles look unremarkable to me.
  11. You should check the greens for AV - otherwise, it might slip by.
  12. Nice ones, the black-faces are a bit harder to find.
  13. And he is not wrong. Transitionals are hand-gathered, cut off, and rounded on a machine, and while the "nine" on this marble is weak, it's definitely there - that's a budding marble collector, for sure!
  14. Rick, It looks like you have 126 posts.
  15. Couple of fractures here, I think.
  16. I plan to pare my collection down to a top 2,000 or so before I move in a couple of years.
  17. I'd guess Akro on the blue one, not sure about the other.
  18. I don't think it's Ravenswood.
  19. Yup, Popeyes have clear transparent, wispy white, and usually two colors - like the first one.

    Kokomo?

    I agree with Chuck.
  21. And thank you all for the well-wishes. I'll have plenty around here to keep me busy - plan to travel a bit too. And in a couple of years, I hope to be living on a Blue RIbbon Trout Stream in Michigan. Thanks, Chad - I decided to get while the gettin's good! I am about five days away from being officially retired, Bruce, and I think I'm already used to it! I'll have plenty to keep me busy around here for a few years, Chuck, and you know I'll be seeing you in Decatur. In about a year, I am going to start paring down my collection - shooting for a top 2,000 or so, because in a couple of years, I hope to be living on a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream in Michigan, and I don't want to move too many marbles!
  22. Wow, Joep. This is too cool, it's a very kind and generous gift. I love it! And I have just the spot for it!

Hey Joep, You should check out this thread:

    Same Set?

I would say all but the black one are game marbles. For the most part, they're pretty hard to ID, since most companies made them, but their structure often shows traits similar to the other marbles the manufacturer made.
