  1. I didn't know they made them this big. Is it an 80s marble?

    .62 Akro?

They're not too uncommon for an old Vitro.
  3. Third mib in the first row and 6th mib in the 3rd row look unusual to me. And the yellow on white are the least common of the common white-based ones.
  4. Both Alley and Raveswood made marbles similar to this, but I think this one is Alley.
  5. Good eye, Dave - it's a cross-through cat's eye!

    Akro? .55

I agree, I based the Ace idea on the fact that it looks more like an uncorked corkscrew than a patch to me.
  7. I'll bet @Chad G. knows more about @1Alleynut who hasn't logged in here since 2016.

    Akro? .55

    Maybe an odd Ace type.
  9. Likes are nice but marbles are waaay better!
  10. I don't see Peltier - might be a weird Vitro.

    Akro? .55

It does look Akro. Does it glow under UV?

    all akro?

Not the last one. I'd be thinking WV swirl for it - looks more Heaton, or maybe Jabo, to me.
  13. I'd say JABO too - 1" ones are not so uncommon.
  14. A few more variations on a theme. The biggest is 31/32" (No. 6) . . . I haven't found too many patches.
  15. Rainbow Red variants . . . the biggest is 15/16" (No. 5)
  16. You're all good, Chuck. I completely understand the challenge of identifying swirls, even if you have cullet in hand - sometimes, especially when you have cullet in hand! lol. And I'm sure there are still many Alleys and Ravenswoods in CAC collections - it can be exceptionally tough to change minds away from CAC. But you know me, I'd take a Ravenswood that looks like CAC over a similar CAC any day of the week!
  17. Thank you very much for responding! I had a feeling you would recognize it. I think it's an exceptional example of the marbles in row 2 of tray 2 - a real beauty. It's so cool that you captured the evolution of these marbles! Thanks Again!

    Dangerous 2

    These are very nice, Rick.
  19. Dave Becker, a stone mason by trade and a really talented polymer marble artist. As far as I know he's been crafting them for about 15 years, and he makes some real killers - some of his flames are unbelievable.

Whaaat!?!? Over 2 1/2", for real? That'd be one of the biggest Grenier's I've ever seen. It's beautiful, whatever it is!
  21. The way I see it, Fess Parker wore a head pelt. Gino Biffany and Les Jones were archetypal Pelt heads.
