  1. I'm pretty sure I'd get more out of that one. But Galen, I thought you once said that anything younger than you wasn't old . . . change of heart? lol
  2. That's a nice blue oddball, Bill!
  3. That makes a great display, Brad, - nice. I wish I still had the one I played as a kid.
  4. And I am sure you're right. I need to slow down, the AV is obviousin that third pic and I thought I was seeing reflections.
  5. Honestly Ron, I don't think those marbles are named. I just called it a Sunny Sky because it seemed to fit and I knew that Bill would know which one I was talking about. Apparently you did too. When a name fits, it just fits, I guess.
  6. I got an original in a big collection I bought years ago. Every once in a while I get it out and shoot a few. I don't think I've ever gotten a marble in the 250 point hole.
  7. It's a great story, Ron. You made me double check my Sure Shot box - no luck. lol
  8. That Sunny Sky is one of my all time favorite marbles - what a beauty!
  9. Bill, I remember the day you found those Carnivals like it was yesterday. And I remember the day you gave me one even better! It's the top one in your pic.
  10. Good idea for a topic, Tommy, I'd save that one too, until I found a replacement. And there's a good story behind Chad's marble, so I'd keep that one too. And Bill, that marble looks like an asteroid or something - a keeper, for sure! I tend to keep beaters that are rare, and something I don't collect, or rare and an example of something I want to collect. Here's one of the former. It appears someone had some fun with it . . .

    Akro?

Akro would be my guess too, Tommy.
  12. I thought it looked kind of funny. Now I know why. I am with Chad on this one - a purple slag with a ton of white!
  13. I'd guess Alley on that one, Tommy.
  14. When Vitro goes pink, it's usually turns out looking good. And that's a great group of Cosmics, Bill. All I have are five 1"-ers. It seems a trade might be in order. 🙂
  15. Good deal, I saw Marble King but didn't think they came that small. And since you've covered my memory more than once, I'll cover your's here - Popeye and Olive Oyl's baby was named Sweet Pea (although, my spelling may not be correct).

    Hmmm..........

Thanks Ron, I am sure you remember those marbles. We talked about them a few times years ago and, at the time, we couldn't quite place them. Now, after the Heaton digs, it seems almost obvious.
  17. I think Ron was onto something with JABO. The colors aren't familiar to me but he would know. The fold and the butt crack are very common traits on JABOs.
  18. That is a pretty little marble, William. It reminds me most of a Vitro but I am not sure about it, and Vitros that small are very uncommon so . . . ? Sometimes I like the smaller marbles better than the big ones. They can be like little gems. I'd keep that one, for sure.
  19. Just some interesting Conqueror types.
  20. Good info, Ron - thanks. Do you think looking at the base glass helps? It seems to me that the Heaton glass quality might be a little less than Peltier's - a bit more bubbly and not quite as bright. You know, the clear on the Pelt bananas is usually about as good as it gets.
  21. I agree on the Pincers too, and that first marble looks like a cute little guy - it'd be nice to see another shot or two of it. And just a heads-up, if you position yourself so any shadows are more-or-less behind the marbles you'll get a much better image.
  22. The marble looks a little surreal. That doesn't look like a cut line to me. It looks more like a crease in the middle of a fold. One of the seams is at the end of the ribbon, if I am seeing things correctly. The other is probably on the other side of the crease about the same distance away.
