  1. Ravenswood and Alley both made marbles similar to this. I am leaning Alley on this one.
  2. I think that is an Akro patch. Some might call it a moss agate.
  3. It looks like a Mega/Vacor Sea Horse.
  4. I agree, and would add that they are still for sale.
  5. I am sure there are folks that collect Vacor toe-breakers - some of them are pretty cool. If this one were mine, I'd keep it.
  6. Nice find Craig. I have not seen a box like it either.

    Any ideas?

It looks like a blended Marble King Rainbow Red to me.
  8. That's right, Steph - no colored base glass here. This is just a clear-based Conqueror with the surface patch and body colors reversed. I've seen thousands of Conquerors and I have not noticed any with reversed patch and body colors before. Though it seems our Vitro friend has, and that's good to know.
  9. Bill, I know the type - I would have remembered that one!
  10. Apparently, I pay way too much attention to Conquerors. lol
  11. Thanks for the thoughts, Galen. I agree the glass is really nice. They're a little undersized too - probably another reason I should have stuck with my gut.
  12. Conquerors are very common vintage marbles but how common are conquerors with a white patch and a colored body? Does anyone have examples?
  13. The white on mine isn't showing very well but it's there. Here is a green and orange for Ed. How about blue, yellow and white.
  14. I thought European at first too. What about them says "not Master" to you?
  15. There might be some other colors in here too. Black and blue next.
  16. Quite a few years ago I found this group of marbles in a collection I purchased. There are colors close to oxblood and metallic copper with AV in some. This one was in there to. It has a more of a cat eye structure with lots of bubbles and AV I think they are Master.
  17. I think the one I posted is like the marble upper left in Patry's pic (RW/WB). Although, mine has all the color on the surface - thanks Al!
  18. Bill, You never showed me this marble.
  19. Can anyone show me what a more typical version of this Pelt would look like? Is this just a clear rainbo with all 4 ribbons on the surface? I think I have seen a "normal" RW/WB one before.
  20. I have thought about it, Sami, maybe a clear-based 2W1R/1B2W-ribbon pattern with bleeding red and one white ribbon on each side spreading out to cover the surface - I might be able to see it. What are you thinking?
  21. . . . is not like the others.

    Super Spotted Dick

I agree with your assessment of their construction. Beyond the fact that they have spots (a pretty simple theme), I would guess they are unrelated - unless in both cases they came in sets with different numbers of spots on them or something, and were used for a similar purpose.
