  1. I think pyrite is right on, Charles. Oddly enough, when I look at the group pic, I think I like the stone best. lol.
  2. You can tell they were going for machine made onion skins. Their best ones are sweet.

Is something wrong with the link in post #7?
  4. Horsehair is associated with very thin oxblood (or oxblood-like) lines. I have never heard it refer to anything else. Check here: http://marbleconnection.com/topic/18998-help-with-iding-this-swirl/?p=163784

No offense at all - just wasn't sure if you were aware.

As far as I know, Mountain Dews lack the darker green and brown colors - pretty much a transparent green base with yellow swirls in and on.
  8. Jan: Yellow Feb: Red Mar: Orange Apr: Pink May: Black Jun: Green Jul: Red/White/Blue Aug: Turquoise How about purple for September?
  9. New to me too. I bet they look pretty cool when you get them rolling around.
  10. That's a nicer veneer than I am used to seeing on an Asian marble. Although, the colors do look like it could be.
  11. . . . a couple of nice ones in there too. As for the original . . . that doesn't look like most of the metal/sheen I've seen on dug Alleys and there's not much else to go on for a positive ID, at least from these pics. And while your description is very good, it doesn't help me much either. It could well be an error, grease on the rollers or something seems reasonable, and it could be dug. That's about all I've got. In other words, I have no clue. And I have to say, your topic title sure piqued my interest - I would love to see a black Alley Chalky!

I think it's an Alley from Pennsboro, which rules out a Ghost (from St. Mary's).
  13. You're a sport, Steph. I won't frustrate you anymore. I had this game for quite a long while before I noticed the misprint - no score in one of the corners. I hope Pressman got a cut rate from the printer!
  14. What's different about it, Steph? Look close . . .
  15. I only have a few of the nine vanes too - they are nice. A large overstuffed four color MK (St. Mary's): No longer mine.
  16. Bob, I liked the little Alpine adventure too. It's my understanding that, back in the day, similar mills were used to make everything from Blood Allies to cannon balls. The cup is Alley:
  17. Well it's a pretty mystery, that's for sure.
  18. Bill, You had at least a couple of opportunities to trade a good Alley for that one. Alley's Superman: Two front left are Super Ghosts, perhaps.
  19. Well, there you have it. Nice collection, Craig.
