  1. I think they're both Vitro Tri-lites. But I might be able to see Akro on the second one.
  2. This is very sad. David was a gentle soul. He had a real flair for life, in general, and writing about marbles, in particular. Whenever I received something from him in the mail it was always a treat. He took a lot of care and time with packaging and presentation, always unique, and always included a hand-written letter. He was one of a kind, and he will be missed.
  3. These are not Vitro, much more likely Asian.
  4. That's a good looking group, Bill - the light blue on that middle one is nice. I always like to have examples of different sizes - the marbles always seem to look better when you mix different sizes together.
  5. I do not think these are mica. I am not certain, but they look mostly like Master marbles to me. They made some that are loaded with white flakes. In fact, some folks refer to them as "snow globes". I don't think I have seen others with this pale blue color though.
  6. $20 seems steep to me. They appear to be a variety of pretty typical stones and dyed clay marbles (and maybe steel ball bearing or two), and the glass marbles appear to be worthless, regardless of what they actually are. I would not buy them.
  7. This is what I have learned, with the help of one of my students: The four characters are "ten-thousand", "mile", "the Great", and "Wall". Together, they make the phrase "The ten-thousand-mile Great Wall", which is the full name of this World Wonder. The red is a signature, and the character appears to be the old Chinese character for "cloud". .
  8. First, I am pretty sure this is Chinese and not Japanese, and it could well be a souvenir from the Great Wall - it is very cool!
  9. I think they are Sunsets.
  10. There are no Vitros here. The first is Peltier. The value on these is little to none, depending on condition, and from what I can see, I doubt a collector would purchase any of them.
  11. If there is only one of those "seams" - I'd call it a creased pontil, and a transitional.
  12. That jar is great - they look really nice in a big group!
  13. That is a cool piece of glass, Joep. Who made it?

There is nothing better than the sun for lighting up a marble. The third in the back row and second in the second in the bottom row are my favorites.
  15. They're pretty marbles, I know that much. 🙂 You might want to check this thread out.
  16. Super nice boxes, Bill! The Tri-lites are sweet and that is a really nice assortment of Master Marbles too. Congratulations!

    Jabo- Alley?

JABO on the left, not too sure about the right one, it might be JABO too.
  18. The Vitros are nice, and the blue/white/yellow is a Peltier Multicolor without any swirl. Not too sure about the left one - I would need a couple of more views.
  19. I can't identify these either but you really need to check for aventurine in the green of the third one (with that nice black stripe) - I'd check for it in the black too.
  20. Game marbles are usually just one solid opaque color. These look like West Virginia swirls.

The first one looks most like a modern Marble King and the last one might pass for a Vitro. The middle one doesn't resemble any American marble I know of, and I am not confident any of them are USA-made. The color combinations on the second and third marbles are great though. I especially like the blue on the second one! I would check for aventurine in the green on that one too. It is most easily seen in sunlight and it sparkles.
  22. It took a while to come up with this - it was worth the wait.

    Akro?

    I think it's a newer Marble King.
  24. Nice Vitros and a nice size. They appear to be Chickpeas or variants.
