  1. I was hoping you'd see this one, Clyde. Thanks for the confirmation. I had a feeling I'd seen or heard of a metallic bruiser before. How common/uncommon are they - any ideas?
  2. Sorry about all the reflections . . . it's about 5/8". The base is dark green transparent that looks black in normal light. The blue patch has a metal ribbon in it and wanders sort of like a script Vitro "V". It reminds me a lot of a Bruiser but . . . ? Any thoughts? Thanks.
  3. I'm not sure whose but it doesn't look Pelty to me either.
  4. I'm with Steph, I think it's a Conqueror variant. I have a few with that brown patch. In my experience they are less common than other colors.
  5. I agree with BJ . . . It looks like something from The American Marble & Toy Manufacturing Co. - kind of a spongeware pattern, I think.
  6. Interesting for sure. A few look hand gathered. A few look like typical German handmades. I think even a good cleaning would help. Hmmmm . . .
  7. Heres a more direct link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251047917305 I'm thinking JABO with a slight chance of Champion.
  8. I'm not real good at this but it does look like it to me. And seeing this one - http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARBLES-VINTAGE-3-4-AKRO-AGATE-UNUSUAL-WILD-CORKSCREW-HAND-DUG-/200749247185?pt=Marbles&hash=item2ebd966ad1 I'd be wary.
  9. Happy Birthday, Ron. I hope all your wishes come true!
  10. I think the grid is part of a light diffuser often used with recessed fluorescent lighting. You can pick it up at most home improvement stores.
  11. A little different . . . I like it a lot!
  12. i.e., about the only thing the seller left out of the listing title.
  13. Any chance you would show a couple of pics? I'd appreciate it.
  14. A coupla killers for sure - the rest are just exceptional! Sweet marbles!
  15. I don't know if scheduling a show between Thanksgiving and New Years, when many people are busy with holidays and family, is such a good idea. I think that is a significant part of why attendance at the Hannibal show had fallen off so much in recent years. And currently, in the Midwest, we have the Crossroads of America show in September, The Badger Marble Club Show in October, The Pride of the Prarie Show in November and the Indianapolis Show at the beginning of January and the Buckeye show in February. The area may be saturated already. Having said that, I'd probably drive the hour to be there. lol.
  16. Check this, Craig: http://marbleconnect...post__p__110161 and this too: http://marbleconnection.com/topic/12981-peewee-friday/page__view__findpost__p__110166
  17. Not a Big 10 fan huh? lol. It's top row center. Go Michigan!
  18. Is that a handmade steelie in the basket of the shooter? Was the pick-up function a magnet?
  19. Very cool! New to me,and it apparently picks up marbles too. The level of precision in the shooter drawing is impressive.
  20. Pelt Sweet Pea is a new one for me. I have only heard the name associated with Vitro.
  21. The Wolverine is just under 1/2". The two 'bos are 9/16", which is oversized in this group.
  22. FYI: The good folks over at Glass Addiction have informed me that the Contemp is a "Spinner" from Rolf & Genie Wald. It is signed "Baddog", which is apparently the way they sign marbles that they are not entirely happy with.
  23. About the only other thing I can imagine is if a company used cullet obtained from elsewhere versus batch glass they produced themselves to make marbles. Maybe the former is a "cullet marble"?
  24. Nice buy, Don. A number look like the Yellow Jackets . . .
