    Pontils

Here's a Japanese pinch "pontil" transitional made by Yasuda . . . The marble is just shy of 11/16" and the "pontil" is about 1/8".
  2. There are some good pics of various pontils here . . .
  3. @Carowill Okay, I think I figured it out, the Golden Zebra is the orange on white and the Golden Dragon is the orange on yellow - just had to think on it for a bit. lol
  4. It looks like it came off in this area . . . Do you see a short straight (maybe palpable) line anywhere in there?
  5. Which marble and which name, Bill? Yeah, I'm that clueless.
  6. I'm thinking it's around 35% of where its headed.
  7. Me too! I definitely thought about the possibility but didn't recall our recent conversation with Jeff about the Pelty-looking newer MKs - live and learn.
  8. Pelts aren't exactly my cup of tea but they sure are great marbles, Art. I think there may be another variation of the pearlized patch color too but I could easily be wrong about that. Do you know anything about that?
  9. Nice marbles, Bill. I am not familiar with either name but isn't that red on yellow one a Bee of some sort? The "orange" on white is really nice - I'm not sure I've even seen one before!
  10. It does look like a pinch "pontil" doesn't it. Although I thought that while those were mostly found in Canada they were not necessarily of Canadian origin.

    Found huge lot

Pointing them out is the problem with so many different photos and so many different marbles in each - I do this for fun, and this is too much like work for me. If you want, pick out six marbles that you find interesting, line them up, take a photo, roll them a little (maintaining the order of the marbles in the line), take another pic, and post the pics in another thread - just different pics of the same group of marbles in each new thread. That'll make it a whole lot easier for anyone who might be willing to help you.

    Found huge lot

This is sort of overload - too many marbles in a single post. It makes it very hard to respond, other than to say there are a variety from JABOs to Vacors to Vitros to Marble Kings, and WV Swirls. The most obvious are the Marble King Bumblebees second from the top left compartment in your most recent first pic and more in the top two rows of another pic. Also lots of single-color MKs next to the Bumblebees in the first most recent case
  13. Jeepers man - that last one . . . can you get any more AV into a marble? Very nice!
  14. Pretty sure it's a swirl not a slag and my best guesses would be Cairo, then Heaton.
  15. I'm wondering if you got into some Cerise Agates in a past lot . . .
  16. I'm wondering about Cerise possibilities again.
  17. Looks like Cerise possibilities to me.
  18. Maybe slightly unusual Marble Kings?
  19. They could well be Vacors but I don't think they are American, whatever they are.
  20. They're Vitros but not sure about Anacortes - with five vanes, I think they're earlier ones from Parkersburg. I think most of the Cat's Eyes out of Anacortes were caged types.
  21. Yes, most are Vitro Hybrids - pretty ones too!
  22. I am leaning with Art toward foreign over Master.
  23. Very interesting marble, Charlie - it's pretty different. I'm thinking it's an odd Peltier but we'll have to see what others think.
