  1. Post it in the Sunday Best topic then!
  2. I was thinking it might be from one of the contract run tank washes?
  3. Cerises are pretty hard to find. You should show them off - I'd love to see them!
  4. Like all marble types, there is a range in this type too. I am sure that that good Crows are a lot harder to than find than the same type of marble that doesn't show a good crow pattern. The later were probably dug by the thousands. Maybe the definition of a Crow has expanded to include any marble of the same type, it wouldn't be the first definition that has been expanded for marketing purposes. Having said that, buy what you like and call them what you will. I'll do the same. 🙂
  5. There are a number of good sphere packing calculators on the web that you might find useful. The math is pretty hairy by hand but go for it if that's what floats your boat. 🙂
  6. It's not screaming JABO to me, but it could be a Classic that I am not familiar with. You have to be a little careful because JABO is not the only company that produced marbles with this type of structure - they just made a lot more of them than most other companies.
  7. I agree with Akro. They made more slags than any other company by a good margin so the odds are with you.
  8. Bingo! They probably could have called them "penguins" but you know . . . "as strait as a crow flies" and all that. 😄
  9. If only I had known it was "light pink"! 😄
  10. Here is a nice pic of "Crows" that Steph posted long ago . . . And I think Melissa is right, smaller ones are far less common.
  11. Thanks, Melissa - you're the girl! Pretty marbles too!
  12. @marblemanvintagemarbles When I say "Sometimes marbles "spin" a bit on the rollers", this is the sort of thing I mean . . . New collectors often mistake it for a sign of hand-gathering.
  13. I agree, just an artifact from production - not intentional. Sometimes marbles "spin" a bit on the rollers. In this case, the rollers appear to have had some crud on them, as Alan said.
  14. Thanks for putting me straight, Melissa. I need to either start paying attention to "new" marbles or start ignoring them altogether. 🙂 Are Watermelon Cat's Eyes a type of marble or a specific color combination? How about Painted Turtles, are they a specific color combination?
  15. I thought Painted Turtles were a particular color combination: Am I wrong?
  16. They call those Tracers because of the white following the colored ribbons.
  17. How many Master errors have you found? They're rare as hen's teeth, IME.
  18. Two CACs and . . . a couple of favorites. 🙂
  19. Those are great bags! I think Jack Pressman (Uncle Jack?) was one of the first to market Japanese marbles in America. His push for profit was at least partially responsible for the downfall of the American toy glass marble industry.
  20. It's an Alley, not so unusual with brown on that milky gray base.
  21. That's a good find. Those tops and bases were made by Andy Davis (RIP) from cullet - meaning chunks of scrap glass from the run. He took the chunks to his shop remelted them and molded tops and bases. My son Jake (RIP) used to love to run into Andy at the shows when he was young because Andy would always pull a top out of his pocket and give it to him. He was definitely one of the good guys. 🙂
  22. I agree with foreign - a K&M would most likely have at least a little white showing, and there is nothing about the structure or colors that looks Pelt to me.
