Perfect, as I expected. As much as I might try, I really don't have the bandwidth to remember Vacor names. At this point, I'm lucky if I can remember the marble is certainly Vacor. And it makes me very happy when someone else comes along to save me from embarrassing myself. So thank you very much for that! 😄

Why not?

Sheesh, that is a nice-looking marble, Melissa. There is a lot of striping glass in that one, and the matte finish looks really nice on it.
-
None that I would know. But if it's a Vacor, there's a good chance its called something. lol

Spoken like a true OG (old guy) - any marble with only white in a transparent clear or colored base, right Art?
-
Those could easily be Alleys - they were sold in the UK.

That's a dandy little Japanese creased "pontil" transitional!
-
How big is this one?

And Peltier oxblood can differ a bit from Akro's. Like Chad said, I've seen it mostly on MCSs but I have seen it on a few others too. It's a nice Rainbo though, no two ways about that.

Akro fleshy base colors help me understand
Ric replied to davesnothere's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
The only Akro "Opal" I can think of is a Fire Opal and this isn't one of them. Akro Corkscrews on an off white UV reactive base are not too uncommon. And I think what you have there would be called "lazy corkscrews" as opposed to patches. But more views might alter my thinking on that. -
I'm leaning Vitro over Akro.

I'm getting Peltier vibes.

I agree that it's some type of a German handmade. It just looks like the pontils have been obliterated.
-
Cairo is my first thought - I think they did make a few big ones.

Not a Pistachio, but I think it's probably still an Alley, just a little unusual.
-
It does look foreign. Vacor seems like a good possibility to me.

Here is the October 2008 Tric Trac article about the Billes & Traditions Company translated from the link I posted earlier . . .

Looks like a Rainbo to me.

Fun bunch of marbles, but there's an Akro contaminating your swirls!
-
The marbles shown in the article remind me a little of the Svenska Stenkulors but they appear have a final glaze or treatment of some sort. Yours don't look quite as glossy.
