  1. No clue. Probably somebody here. Sigh.
  2. It's been years now, and I'm still grieving the loss of this one. Probably always will.
  3. Oldnurse is a very reputable seller but she knows a lot more about old Germans than machine-mades --
  4. If neither Steph nor I can find it any longer, I think you're safe. But you needn't doubt it. There are others here who remember it too. You can't really make amends for it, though I appreciate the thought.
  5. Weren't some used as drawer pulls as well? Hansel, that's an amazing chandelier . . .
  6. How cool! Are any of the rolly hole old-timers going to be there and play?
  7. Oh yea, that's right. That's who I was thinking of . . .
  8. Unfortunately they're pretty thin on the ground over here. Two of my puny five I traded for, from a secret marble sounce in England, who shall remain nameless. It was a couple of years ago, anyway . . .
  9. And that marble in the middle box looks funny for an Akro. Or is it me?
  10. Wasn't Pavcraz connected to Florida somehow too, at one time?
  11. I haven't heard from Dani, but here's the one I got from her awhile back -- with apopogies for using her pic --
  12. OK, I'm convinced. I'll send it to you and see what you think!
  13. That's a nice job, Danny. I think I WILL send you that beat-up marble of mine, for your opinion . . .
  14. Thanks, Steph. I couldn't find it either. That's the thread I was referring to, in which Galen was all of the things he's accusing me of being here. I appreciate your honesty and fairness, quite a bit.
  15. They sure don't. I got a nice one from Dani a while back. I'll post a pic of it if it's OK with her (it's her pic). It's in the family of your really fine new one . . . I'd love to see more, too. Post 'em if you got 'em!
  16. I've heard all that blather before, Galen. Whatever. Just keep talking and talking about how it's never your fault (What? Oh, anything). Just stop whining. It's so annoying. Oh. And you might want to keep your guard up about what you say. Sorry Steph. All over.
  17. Wow, Winnie, they're all great. A couple are colors/combinations I haven't seen before. I wonder if only a few types (shipments?) made it over here? The only ones I usually see (and them not very often) are the green/maroon/white ones and the orange/maroon/ white ones.
  18. Jeeeeze. I WAS NOT PROMOTING THE PAMPHLET. I said I heard there WAS one. Do you never stop viewing things from your own self-constructed world? No wonder you so conveniently forget doing the things you so often accuse others of doing. I don't like manipulators. It's that simple. And if you leave me an opening a truck can drive through, why yes, I'm going there. Every time. You writing that your "stirring" (and yes, in standard English, that sentence says it's your stirring, -- not Mike's) "would fly over too many heads" was a direct insult to pretty much everybody here on this board. Maybe you should "think a little more" before you write. Naw. Not feeling like an apopogy today. I like my apologies serious. P.S. I agree that Mike is much more clever than you.
  19. There you are Chuck! I knew you'd have some pics -- Thanks!
  20. I don't have to read your post again. I got it the first time. May I remind you of a time not so long ago when you and a few others (including Hansel) hounded me for days after I said I heard a book on Fiedler was coming out, accusing me of "selling snake oil" and insinuating any number of other things about me. Yep, you both were just plain nasty. Degrading and disrespectful too. I'm sure you could probably dig up the multiple pages of those threads if you looked hard enough. Or I can. So don't whine at me. I don't buy into it. I thought we cleared up that little matter via PMs a long time ago. I'd be happy to refresh your memory of that as well. I respect your knowledge of CACs, Galen. Except when it comes to color. You're color blind. That's a fact. And that's all.
  21. Sorry. SS was a favorite of mine too. Although I preferred Thor (Ragnarok! Fire and Ice monsters!) and Dr. Strange (Infinity! EEEE!)
  22. Not delving into the black/not black thing any more than I already have in another chain of posts not too long ago -- but I have to say the old German swirls that have black, have black that is really BLACK. I mean, no matter what light you put on or through them -- the black is black, not very dark purple or blue or green or . . . just black. At least on the ones I have and have seen in person. Of course there's always a first time . . .
  23. For those who are not familiar with this marble, the white wire-like swirls can vary from what you see in Sami's example to pretty thick and opaque. Sometimes widening into narrow ribbons. The aventurine is sometimes so dense the marble looks black at first glance. I like them a little lighter than that, just because they sparkle more. The white debris flecks can cause some of them to look damaged, but if you look closely they're just debris flecks, not hits. Those too can be few or many. So if you find one, just send it to me to verify and all, I'll send it back soon, well, pretty soon, you know, unless I forget -- I'm old . . . Yes, thanks Steph! And thanks, Sami!
