Hi Steph. No totally clear glass at all. base glass transparent green only. It may be an illusion from the wispy white in there.

really no one has any ideas? not even a guess?

those were our exact thoughts as well..

looking for some maker thoughts on this one.. the base is a nice emerald green(a little more so than pics) the black is a true black, but light will go thru, swirls into the core. measures 5/8". with wispy white swirls, with the black. There is nothing that says 'new ' to me. Emk

hi, nice find. I have one, glass, 5 3/4" X 5 3/4" , teeny little glass marbles. not bullet mold. marked 'Standard Toycaft products co. Ny Ny'. Inside the little mosaic book that came with it, copyright 1937. all marked made in NY. It says "Your glass marble tray is four sided tray on one side, and 8 sided tray on the other. this gives you a chance to make 2 different kinds of designs, square and octagon". It also says 'Mosiac designing is one of the oldest forms of art work and one of the most interesting, too." "you will find it really great fun". EMK

Heck yeah up early(5 am). all my humming bird feeders were frozen. have to thaw for my little ones. they don't really like popcicles! lol had to thaw them again by 8 am.

I don't think they cooled for 50 years either... maybe 50 days. lol. I actually had a few come to me from consignors. One is someone that doesn't read the boards etc. when I told them I believed the marble(s) in question were Bulgarian fakes, he requested I throw them in the trash so they would never be resold as old again. good consignor, honest person, and they are gone gone gone. with this said. I personally am grateful that we all have boards like this to bounce ideas, bring this to light and educate others of the very real pitfalls of marble collecting/selling. I guess it comes to the old saying of forewarned is forearmed! I notice that now they say they are newer.. before I believe they did not? So one has to be wondering just how many are out there sold as old, for good money and how many don't know they were had? shameful.

hi Winnie. mostly the sunbursts are on clear, but can also be found on a an amber, light blue, green tint, .. I think what may be confusing is the' tigereye' type masters..they are always on a clear glass base. don't know if this helped much?
