  1. Hmmm interesting, the ones from Don remind me of some of what we know as Asian today but appear to have nicer glass. And some of the speckled ones are very similar to ones I recognize but thought newer than that, so this is helpful. I hope there is more out there as I have always been curious them having been making marbles for so long. Thank you.
  2. ,So, Vacor marbles have been around a long time, however I am not sure I could safely say I know what old Vacor looks like. So do you have older Vacor that you have nailed down? The older the better but lets say at least pre 90's, I am familiar with the Michelangelo and the handmade Atmosphere....but what was before those? Anyone have some known older Vacor and an idea of when they were made???
  3. Yes it does have that look. Good morning Steph. =}
  4. Yes, Steph. On the blue one the ox appears to dive deep and surface again elsewhere. On the Milky it just ends, no diving. And in the collage, that 3rd marble has tan flame like pattern long and thin. These couple of streamers in tan are seen on occasion in alley. These are in this case edged in ox, something else you see often in alley, the thin lines of ox following pattern. Of course with all the argument I get to the contrary they are still just my thoughts of things I think I see. In the collage the base of that marble looks very white and not so translucent, but I know the milkies do vary so that is just an addition and not a defining characteristic. So far the one in the collage is staying there, I question it sometimes and other times I do not. But the blue one I see as different. Super, again the base is really white for a milkie but I would be more likely that than alley. The ends of the ox are more Akro like. Don't get me wrong, they are supposed to be white, just sometimes the look more stark white. =}
  5. Also, in my Akro Milky collage, top row third marble in.....I have always suspected Alley and always told I was wrong. I am still not sold.
  6. For comparison purposes, notice as well the ending of the ox is very sharp as if painted on the milky
  7. One candidate would be this one, I think it could be Alley. When in hand by itself it looks white with a slight blue tint. Set it next to a milky and it is robins egg blue. But I have been assured it is Akro and sometimes they were a little blue-ish....really?
  8. I do see some differences in some, it is mostly having to look at the pattern and to a lesser degree about the oxblood. Most times I keep those thought to myself until such time I can prove it somehow. I have brought it up in the past and many avid Akro fans defend the akro ID with a passion. but there are some that I surely think make more sense as alley.
  9. As far as I know we do, although there is some that I might think fit better with Alley. I have some in an Akro packaged bag, rather doubt they got them from Alley. I just think there may also be some very similar marbles from Alley that were attributed to Akro before anyone cared to figure there may be other makers. Why do you ask Steph?
  10. But the moss swirls I would say have an exquisite pattern, and if I were trying to sell marbles the patches would also be exquisite. =}
  11. Maybe that is a fake Nickle and it is actually 2 inches. =}
  12. I think you are a gonner, hooked, addicted, a full fledged Alley fiend! =}
  13. Little late to the party, have to agree with Ron. In the first pic you can see the cut off and CAC does not usually show clear between the colors. Nice marbles.
  14. Uh oh, there goes the neighborhood! lol Hi Darren, glad to see ya.
  15. Make way.....it's a herd....a herd of Tater bugs! lol
  16. Oh Chuck! Nice show man and those pics are rockin it. The marbles, well ya have me droolin.
  17. Oops, but swirly is a good thing. =}
  18. I would have to jump on the Alley train. And like what Steph said, the lack of the wormhole like tunneling makes it tougher to push to the Ravens camp.
  19. It did sound like you knew exactly what you were talking about Steph. =} I think you are fairly on target, although there may be slightly more to it depending on which flames. I say this because on some transparent Alley the flame seems to be on one side and on the other side an area of transparent only straight up the center between the pattern as if the glass was folded and the flames stretched around the opposite side as the two halves come together. in these, there is nearly always a single bubble trapped towards the bottom right near center. Just some random observations that may mean nothing. =} I think this photo shows what I mean easier than many, it is easier to see than to photograph in transparents. not exactly a butt crack but maybe similar idea.
