I keep them somewhat organized and labeled in case I get hit by a bus. I used to be more diligent but when I got to sorting WVS and slags and I wiffle-waffed on so many it just became too time consuming.
I agree slags can be tough especially from pics...but that color...
And pretty sure I'm seeing a huge seam (pic2 and pic 5, along the edge of the white). Nice marble either way
Go for it! Back in the day I wondered about "casing" damaged marbles in a layer of clear glass.
Epoxy would be easier...but not without its challenges if you were going to do a spherical mold there would still be a parting line. And trying to keep the marble centered.
If it were me I'd look at making a domed paperweight or incorporate them in a resin countertop or coaster or something. Post some pics it would be a fun project.
Nice find no kidding! Never personally seen one that big but heard they got up there in size. Check-valves is what I heard most (if not all) this size were originally for. Now I'm wondering what all you passed up on?
2nd set of pics doesn't even look like the same marble LOL! Odd color combo for this type...I'd want to see it closer but invariably it would end up with my Pelts
I needed an extra couple inches to clear some rough-ins (work in progress, lol, don't mind the mess). So they're not packed up in a box anymore, plus they function way better than I expected!
Interesting. I imagine most of the original "strings" are long gone from those necklaces. The bullet mold necklace looks extra heavy (the racket it would make if the string broke)...
Cool. I'm curious about the (what appears to be) opaque red on aqua. Greiners?
Have you counted them? Looks like more than 32...(I was originally thinking Solitaire group).
And then the "grill marks" on two of the sides of the mass. Any clue what they were in then melted to leave those marks? Cool item
