Nice haul. I like the Veililiglass and handmade confetti. Of course there are quite a few other stand-outs as well.

If I'm understanding things correctly you went out of your way to correct the sellers mistake (for which you got refunded), but the guy who ended up with your marbles won't give it up? Even though he got it by mistake to begin with? So much seems odd. Looks like a pretty common amber slag to begin with.

I hoped that whoever owned that collection would chime in. Still, you don't see them that often. I almost took a chance.. an online auction pic where it looked like one was hiding (local auction out of Canada no less). Kinda kicking myself now.

I don't collect these so not sure what people are calling them, but this looks like it was made by Marble King to me

Definitely some CAC's (Christensen Agate Company) in the group. Those are your blue/red, green/yellow, red/yellow, and black/yellow...although a few of them could be Akro Agate Company. Hard to tell from the pics. The most collectible is the blue/red/yellow CAC. Condition is important to value. A handful of other interesting mid-century machinemade marbles. And a bunch of catseyes. There is also a handmade clay and an "Indian" in the mix. Have fun

From the pics I'm not seeing CAC (or at least anything well defined as CAC). Keeping in mind you get to see it in hand whereas the rest of us are going off pics. All in poker? lol. I suppose there isn't much to lose...but let's put it this way: if playing keepsies for marbles, I wouldn't put up a marble with (arguably) better CAC characteristics for that example pictured. The yellow one looks interesting, I'd be more focused on it.

I always went by bands vs. splotches. If the multiple colored bands go from pole to pole uninterrupted, I'd consider it to be a Joseph's coat. If those colored bands are interrupted and take on more of a teardrop or splotchy form, that leans me towards Onionskin.

Rather than country of manufacture, I believe "Canada" comes up because these are found more in Canadian collections/groups. Possibly because they were exported to Canada in greater numbers than the US...after all the US had their own marble manufacturers.

It's been looked into over the years. I'm not aware of anything definitive, but lots of rumors. Generally two opaque colors, hand gathered (the "nine" pattern looking more like a corkscrew than a tight nine), and a cut off point. Not a rough cut off like Yasuda, or a "pontil" like you'd see on German handmades... although I've had three of these with same color combo and pattern, with 3 very different cut offs. If not Canadian (I doubt it), Foreign would be my guess before US made.

Nice displays. I've resorted to put my displays on the wall, up high enough so the pets and little kids can't get to them. Still the risk of bouncing balls and Nerf gun wars though...
