Nice Handmades Kevin, real unique ones there. I did a double-take on that lobed red/yellow solid core, thought it was a "twin" Some of "Barton's Beauties" getting time in the sun, these are my favorites

I'd like to see some of those vintage handmades, for one. Post away!

Is that a pic of the finely ground pontil or is it on the other pole? Bright "English" colors, probably close to "end of cane" (you know where the layers and construction can get a bit unpredictable). Super looking marble, but I think it's one of those odd-balls that don't quite fit in a specific category

Blue, woo-hoo!

Here's some what I consider to be close enough to a shade of oxblood they're kept them together. Even if they aren't. The German's may have used a softer glass since it seems like almost all have blow-outs and surface roughness, (especially seen in mine which are beat)

I've heard some of those can be newer repro. Did they ever have bails and stoppers? Who needs bottle caps or bails and stoppers when you can have a marble? lol

That must have been the other one I was thinking of (good grief, there are at least two of those beauties!). Individually made? I was leaning more along the line of the incidental looping pattern you'd sometimes see close to end of cane on vintage German marbles. Very interesting marbles.

Amazing marble. I recall seeing one like it (or more likely the same one) posted a couple years ago and couldn't quite get my head around it. The pattern and size certainly makes it unlike your average cane cut marble.

Not sure which of the two messages to respond in, but anyhow... I've heard that some of the confetti's may have come from the far east somewhere. The opaque (?) spotted ones look like might be kin to the elusive "lightning bolt" pattern. It wouldn't surprise me if marbles were made there.

Here's a couple in the orange range, some look yellow-er or red-er but. Getting a good example of orange might be like trying to capture amber/yellow/peach?... Cool MFC test marble, looks like a decent size.

Can't comment on fair market value, but that's an appealing figure and size. With sulphides, a lot of emphasis is put on how well the figure is centered in the glass, and how visible the detail on the figure is (un obstucted by air bubbles etc). If you got it for a good price then I'd expect you'll come out ahead.

How big is that? Pretty cool, probably took some time to make, let alone come up with the design

Maybe I could get my eyes checked, but I'd wager that some of those are fitting the description of pre-1900. Pre turn of the century is what it reads to me. Pre turn of century means...well sometime before a turn of the century. Kinda vague. :Sad_headshake_tweetz: No comments on the marble that I thought would have the most comments..

Nice Mib. Not going to ponder on polished this or dug that, but I will say it is quite possible to find a nice marble like that in the wild. A few years back, a relative (from Canada as well) was kind enough to give me a couple Corks that used to belong to her Mom. I assure you, neither of them would have any interest to add or take away anything to that jar for at least the last 30 years. Yes, it's possible there were diggers back then too, and some of you might still be here!

Group shot of some smaller favorites. So hard to choose, I love them all. The old handmade marbles are refreshing. :Cool_653: Sue, that real small one looks like a nice 3-layer peewee I've only seen a couple of those before.

Big "Bruisers" 1.5~2.5" Hard to choose favorites. Some real nice ones posted so far. Might take some off the shelf for a "group shot" later. Or maybe if I dumped them in a tub like Brad it would make it easier
