George gives 1948 to 1957 as estimates for that box style (without the cellophane and cutout). Also the bag is likely to be from the 1950s.

Checked with George. He pointed out that it's the same box as in Marble Mania, p. 108. The only one he's seen like that. He's been pondering this one off and on for a long time.

It's a handsome marble. If it doesn't already have a name it should be named after some exotic wood. We can keep bumping this until Ric shows up.

I have figured out how to add some new emoticons. AND I figured out how to find some of the old emoticons. They've been there the whole time but I had to click an extra button or two to get to 'em. Check in the first group. Just called "Emoticons". I see three rows. 21 emoticons. But that group actually has 51 emoticons in it. Go to the top right of the Emoticons menu and click on Categories. From there I can get to the full list of the 51.

LOL, Chad. I have no idea what we just saw but it was great. Thanks for the heads up, John. I had seen one of Jelle's marble races making the rounds on Facebook and was happy for him. I had no idea he made the news. I've posted a congratulations thread in the marble run forum for the next time he checks in.

If the white-ish ribbons of a transparent swirl glow, does that make it more likely to be Playrite and/or Jackson than some other maker? Due to Vitrolite cullet? Or are glowing ribbons a chance across many makers?

Peltier Rainbo on the red, white and blue. Nice one. And I'll say Vitro on the green and white-ish one. I guess the style name on that one would be Conqueror. It looks a little different to me, but it has to be a Conqueror, right?

I'm not at all sure of value. Wouldn't even want to guess. But if I had to, I'd guess like $10 to $20. If someone could identify the artist, it might be found to be more valuable.

This is what we call a contemporary. It is made by hand by a marble artist. It was made relatively recently. (There is a limit on how many kilobytes you can load in a single post.)

Interesting. Different. Yes, newer MK would be my guess ... and then my question would be is it be a true hybrid or was that an intentional combination?
