  1. Thanks for jumping in with this!
  2. These are modern. Not Vacor though. These are Marble King. Very similar looking. The Marble Kings have patches firmly separated from each other on opposite ends of the marble. Here are Vacor Black Panthers. The ribbons are generally more wrapped around the center of the marble, sometimes meeting in the middle. This pretty picture shows how sometimes they seem to be on the sides like a Marble King. But also illustrates how they can meet up in the middle. Source: DETAILED INFORMATION (billes-en-tete.com)

    ID help

Marble King on left, Vacor on right. I think Vitro in the middle, though the structure isn't quite standard and at some points made me think of Peltier.
  4. Still curious about if they're Woodies!
  5. Wasn't personal! I was just feeling around for the right way to describe how much I wanted it to be a Copperhead, but figured it wasn't, with a little mix of frustration at how hard it is to search for good images since so many of search results are sales from people who mis-id-ed the marbles when they listed them for sale. 😅
  6. For sure Vitro on the right.
  7. I wonder if the first or third would fall under the name "Woody". Like Art, I also played with the notion of "Copperhead" on the first. But it's probably more in the area of "I'm going to call this a copperhead and sell it on Ebay for big bucks even though I was told it wasn't a copperhead" kind of thing. Sweet bos all around.
  8. At 5/8" I don't know if it would qualify as a Blue Devil. I am curious about what people more familiar with the name game will have to say. I'm thinking probably at least early Vitro, but am leaving the door open slightly for Akro.
  9. What size? If large then that could point toward Blue Devil. Your marble is pinker than I think of with the Blue Devil but maybe that's allowed. ??
  10. It would be cool to get some close-up pictures of the reds. From the box photos it seems that the reds might have a different internal texture from the other colors.
  11. Here's a picture posted by Bill Liebbe.
  12. Here's one of Dave's sets of auction pix. Pulled it up from Facebook. 41/64". Big photo but you might have to click through a couple of times to supersize it. His Facebook listings are nice, by the way. Quality marbles that you can get for about the same price as as or not much more than what a lot of commons are selling for on Facebook.
  13. Here is nice pic of Joanne Singleton's sample box. I just figured that Melissa was looking for something showing more detail. And though I didn't save Dave's pix of the Cloudys aka Melon Balls he was selling, I remembered them as being high quality.
  14. @westcoast_dave has been selling some Cloudys recently. He might have some good close-ups.
  15. ❤️ kitten! ❤️ Here's the first light tent I planned to use for marble pix. My boy Joe quickly claimed it as his own. I didn't object. Joe was old. And he loved his cave so much.
  16. Scott Patrick's work?
  17. ??? I need ... I don't know what I need. The marble looks modern to me.
  18. I'd adjust the settings on my camera. That base totally looks blue in the photo. With a blue and brown swirl, I was scrolling through the Vacor listings, and googling to try to find the Chinese marbles which resemble the Vacors. What a difference it makes to be told the base is white.
  19. How wonderful they all look together.
  20. I think it's a double ingot -- two Marble King bumblebees stuck together.

    JABO?

Josh, to me it sounded like you were presenting these as Wicked Owls. And sounds like others would like to hear more about it.

    JABO?

The colors are dead-on for Vacor Wicked Owl.
  23. Hard to guess the odds on that. Better odds of a shooter patch? Or better odds of a rainbo whose ribbon peeled off? I guess I"m leaning toward the rainbo.
