  1. I'm not much of a handmade person. I think that's an onionskin. I'll let someone else confirm (or correct) and comment on repairs.
  2. Hi again. More views needed on the top left. #2 on the top left is a Peltier. #5 on the top row is Peltier. #6 looks like it might be also. Most of those are West Virginia Swirls. Named West Virginia Swirls because there were more than 10 marble making companies in West Virginia making somewhat similar styles of marbles. I think most or all of your WV Swirls were made by the Alley company. I'm about to run off to do an errand. Maybe someone else will take the book question. If not I'll try to remember to look up a few references for you soon. In the meantime, Joemarbles.com is a good place to check out.

  5. Thanks! Way cool. Was the special look of the abalones caused by being buried? Or did they come like that fresh off the rollers?
  6. Why do you think koko? Any provenance?
  7. There was an ad which appeared to be confirmation for the existence of red MFC slags, but the reference to red almost certainly meant the American Cornelian (AKA bricks) since that was such an important part of their line and wasn't mentioned on the ad. Someone may have tried to save a little bit of advertising money and caused confusion by shortening the long name.
  8. The little kid who fell down the hole in the first X-Files movie now stars on NCIS: New Orleans.
  9. Thanksgiving is over. You're good! Nice Christmas balls.
  10. He has some good stuff. A little birdie told me that two different people use the account and he's young. I think he might have a few pricing issues but I saw one neat item which I was sort of surprised didn't sell. I sort of wish for his sake that he and his selling partner will decide to set up separate accounts. Otherwise when people go for the "see other items" option they'll keep being distracted in a way which hurts his sales. After they sort out the mismatched items, he'll have a good chance of working out other issues. In any case, good luck to him. (Edit: Maybe I'm wrong on the prices and just don't recognize the rarity of some of the items but that's sort of the point -- that's not a discussion we're having because the panties have become the conversation piece.)
  11. Remembering Al Hirschfeld ....
  12. What would/might the stamp have been affixed to when it was in use?
  13. Of course, I couldn't picture how that stamp would have been used to make the comic design on the marble. So how was that done?
  14. I guess that's a clue. He had a lot of legit looking items though. .... along with all the panties.
  15. What do you guys think about the stamp at this auction? http://www.ebay.com/itm/321582649051 Description:
