  1. Hello Mark. Great heirloom. For some reason, the earliest date I associate with that style of marble is 1856. Not sure quite why that date sticks out in my mind, but it might be when a certain tool was invented related to the manufacture of glass marbles. Or maybe the beginning of one of the famous marble making factories. It was made in Germany. I'm less sure about the name of the style. I think maybe 4-panel onionskin. One of these days I really need to learn those names. Someone else should be by shortly to set that part of the story straight.
  2. Interesting graphics on this colorful box from ebay auction of calvinandhobbsplace The Soldiers of the Queen, Infantry of the Line. England expects that every man will do his duty.
  3. Not oxblood. Oxblood red is opaque and tends to be dark. The first three look like Jabos to me. The one on the right is Asian -- a style which is still being made. Would cost a few cents.
  4. The marbles in this last group look like they could be mostly Jabo Classics. Which would have been made after 1991. Maybe some value to the right person. Not high dollar.
  5. Yes, they need to make more yummy pink! (and thank you again, Edna ) ... p.s., I'm still puzzling over the mica
  6. Well n2marbles prolly should have posted it himself! He is a member and all. Ebay plugs are perfectly legit. This is an auction which deserves attention. The good kind. $.02 -s
  7. That awesome Master bag is for sale?! And the amazing scenic china. I just noticed that.
  8. Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly
  9. My guess just from the colors would have been Pelt. But I don't recognize that pattern with those colors.
  10. I think it doesn't happen often. At least I haven't seen many. Well, I've seen quite a few peewee patches. But very few larger ones. Did the auction mention a size? (I looked but didn't see a size.)

My thought when I saw the first pic was he looks like he enjoys the benefit of moving around more than my kitties do.
  12. Hello. I used to follow the auctions for those boxes. Unfortunately I paid more attention to the box than the price. I'm going to guess $30 give or take. But that is only a guess.
  13. Packing up the 60's marbles to sell to people who pay top dollar for everything kinda makes sense. I saw the lol, but it actually sounds good if that's the market in you area.
