Do you ever have those dreams where the mibs are unbelievably giant sized, and you're in hog heaven? These are carpet balls in reality, but I thought the color combination was noteworthy. Enjoy!

We Have Lost Another Fellow Collector
Speed Racer replied to Al Oregon's topic in Marble Friends Memorial
Sad news. May he rest in peace. That is so thoughtful of you Edna. We are all blessed to have you here. -

OMG the casting flaws alone are enough to make you laugh. Both are repros imo. The originals have much more detail especially in the kid's faces. This is really getting out of hand. Pretty soon nobody is gonna trust anyone selling ANYTHING marble related at ebay! Between all the unsigned art glass and the do-it-yourself modern Bennington crap, I think we have a challenge ahead of us if we place value on our own collections. Here is what the detail should look like, for all of you who can't tell the difference.

Hello there, I'm seeing a dodo bird not ostrich. The plumes look correct but the neck is too fat. That is one extinct egg! I mean marble. Nice catch.

Not Marbles But New Akro For Me
Speed Racer replied to jeeperman's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Jeepers! Those are really busy. The aventurine is always a favorite, but both are gorgeous. -
Hello, can anyone else see the opaque white base thru the transparent blue? I am also seeing the grey. I thought Spidermen were on an opaque baby blue base.

Roached...lol

Miller Gray coat? At 5/8 my guess. Rare mib!

Nice ones Ric, especially the center swirl, and Winnie those are all really pretty swirls. Way to go both of you! I thing more people should just trade back and forth.

Does anyone know what a marble in a triangle represents? Is it Mason's or the like? Does it somehow relate to gambling? I came across this old postcard with a woman with a spade shaped hairdo and in the top of her hairdo is the thing I'm talking about. I have the original illustration for this playing card but my original doesn't show this symbol in the hairdo vey well at all. Here is the playing card: "Copyright, 1909, Moffat, Yard & Company, New York NY."

Hey, I love all you guys, so I just wanted to clarify, and I know you'll understand. Willie is NOT the know all end all, and he'll tell you the same thing, but it is nice to get an in-hand inspection from someone with his educated eyes. Truth be told, when I learn to shoot better pictures, I won't need Willie nearly as much. I really love a mib that can appear as an Akro, Kokomo, Peltier, Vitro, and Master (of disguise)!! Thanks again for all your time and help. (Me? I'm still between Master and Kokomo) Yes, Kokomo! But that's only because I'm such a hardhead.

Alley Book Completed Finished Ready For Sale
Speed Racer replied to wvrons's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Speedy is very pleased with his copy. Looks like he won't be able to put this one down for weeks! Thanking you again, Roger -
Nope, not Akro. But at first Willie was going with Akro as well. Then he backlit the mib and pointed out the big fat cream puff looking thing which occupies half of the marble and is (how did Willie put it?) folded over a little on itself at the seams. He said it did look bifurcated in hand but he passed on it due to a couple micro fleas and micro sparkles and of course those cold rolls. Willie, you have grown to be such a purist! I'm gonna start calling you Wet Willie!! LOLOLOLOLOL
