It's a ~100 year old hand-gathered transitional. I believe MFC. There is a name for these but I forget it. I have one or two in my collection, harder to find.

Regarding the so called flint marbles

Flint can be many colors, it's mainly formed in limestone but varies in color and hardness and characteristics by region. It can be brown, red, tan, white, grey, yellow, orange, marbled variety of colors etc... Flint is basically hard chert, a form or quartz, from a scientific point of view. -
A few people dig once in a while but hardly anyone knows about it anymore and fewer people want to go to the trouble anymore.

Acres, maybe 100 acres of it. The city dump from when my town was a resort town in the 1800s until around the 1940s. We had a population back then of 20,000 and had electric lights before NYC. Today it's a nice bigger small town. You can dig 10 feet down and still be in bottles.
