  1. "Your welcome" I wish they had continued it also, maybe different sizes etc......
  2. One of my few & first childhood regrets Brad, over the hill they went after kissing the leather strap of my slingshot. Even the ones I got from "Great Grandpa" as a kid. I'm not sure exactly what all they were but the high point of his collection probably ended in the early teens. He gave them to me at 8 years old 51 yrs ago & they were gone in minutes. My grandfather passed in 2013 at 97, gave me his shortly after Great grandpa & they met the same fate. I think everyone has the "If Only" thing from their childhood.
  3. I got that UV. light at harbor freight Tommy, thanks for the lead. An 11/16ths+" royal blue base I just got, part of some I ran into.
  4. Is this the link you were trying to post LINK : https://www.peltiermarbles.info/1981-nove-run MINE 29/32nds

    Akro?

A great post about some of Akros rarest big mibs : Some really good pix of a buckskin & from Ron & a Jolly Roger & the exceptionally rare lunchbox from Bill M. Courtesy of (AAM) LINK : https://www.allaboutmarbles.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2210&p=304797&hilit=lunchbox#p304797
  6. Same here a lot of 25's or zero's, an occasional 100 but I've as of yet not hit the 250 either, maybe a smaller game mib ??
  7. Still a great patch. I have a bunch of em in many colors, Akro made patches before corks & after.

    Akro?

Yes!! Akro definitely made 1" mibs ( Buckskin, Jolly Roger, Lunchbox ) and bigger !! I think Bill said this one was a tad over 1 1/4" a "Jolly Roger" a link to the post for ya also, enter each of the marbles I've mentioned into the search bar, loads of info for ya on the big uns.. "Thanks for the pics Bill " great mib ......... LINK : https://marbleconnection.com/topic/25962-round-and-round-we-go/?tab=comments#comment-224156
  9. I smell cotton candy and popcorn !! Alley litiouse !!!!!.....
  10. Is the yellow an ade base (UV. reactive) or ace base ?? If UV. reactive an " Akro Lemonade patch" it looks like a white cloudy ace based mib from here and not an ade but a quick check with the UV. light never hurts.
  11. Ah yes !! lets all join in....................... wait a little.............never hurts, By the way Bill, "Nice Chalky Brother" a real ground pounder
  12. "Thank you Steph" come to think of it I have been waiting a while for an older one. The 05 & 06 repros look a little different in color and design and are made by "Rocket" instead of "Wolverine" note: one of the Wolverine is "base ball" and ones "basket ball" are a bit different but both share the same name ?? A newer "Rocket" games version !! "Wolverine even made a plastic version !! This ones Identical to the one I got !! Original 1930's version, same as mine except for the color, guess I did luck out !!
  13. Both the pee wee & the other look like Akro to me.
  14. My first mib I got from Mom out of one of her dresser drawers during a move when I was 10 yrs. old, she told me it was her favorite shooter when she wad a child, a little worse for wear but priceless to me. I never started collecting any type of real collection until I was 20 but the mib Mom gave me was always in the back of my mind & I still have it today. Holds a prominent place in my big curio along with all the mibs I've received from Friends. I think it's a Pelt aqua slag but it has so many hits who knows, it really doesn't matter who made it. It's not going anywhere.
  15. x 2, Agree Akro, that is a purple slag Tommy correct ?? Or is my viewer waked
  16. I seen the sheen & that's the only reason I said "Vacor". Any other cats eye doesn't have that, specific to "Vacor" (Mega)Just the neutral background will help you immensely, your phone will focus on the marble instead of the bright background. as far as a bulb goes, I go to wall mart & get a 20 to40w 5000k daylight bulb. A bright bulb will only add to the reflections. I use a shadow box also when possible to cut out all reflection, you can get one at Walmart for $5.00 the bulb is about the same, so $10 bucks, I use a simple Sony camcorder set on macro in picture mode, you will find a happy medium in a few hours or less of trial & error "Good Luck". You can also get a clip on macro lens for your cell, see if it will fit before you get it. this is it & a link to some pix taken with it. Don't know if these results are typical but some pretty outstanding results. This link will take you to the whole thread on the clip on macro, you can go to amazon to see if they make one that fits, I don't own a cell. LINK :https://marbleconnection.com/topic/26103-macro-lens/?tab=comments#comment-225747 HERE"S THE UNREAL PART!!
  17. #1 & #3 have the indicative oily sheen of a Vacor, the second is etched or (acid washed) glass & also a Vacor the name evades me. # 4 looks Jabo from what I can see of it. Wait on some others to post, maybe a different opinion or a correction on the Jabo and a specific name of manufacturer for the W.Va. swirl !! 1. "Vacor" (Mega) Cats eye 2. Vacor" (Mega) Blueberry freeze or something similar (looks Blueish green on my monitor ??) 3. "Vacor" (Mega) Spaghetti ?? 4. looks like "Jabo" ?? 5. West Virginia swirl 6. "Vacor" (Mega) I believe called a "Galaxy" Many of the newer Vacor have that oily, pearlescent sheen to them, often along with an orange peel textured surface. Not real sure on the Jabo William, All newer mibs except # 5, the W.Va. swirl.
  18. Bottom (R) corner in first pic & the marble in the third pic are the same one and it has "heavy Aventurine" in it, all those little sparkles aren't light reflections. The pock marks shown in the second pic appear to be small hits & fleas on that particular marble. Yours appear to me to be "Jabo " As far as I know "Leightons" were all hand ground or melted pontil transitional's, not machine made as those pictured above are?? MORE
  19. The middle 2 look like Japanese pincher marbles, probably around 9/16ths, and as far as the other 2 I can't tell from the pic ?? to dark and vague !!
  20. Hang on I think I have some wooden marbles $$$$ 🤑
  21. More than full price here, double or more, last time I bought plywood it was 3/4" for the deck of my 18.5' fishin boat & it was 30.00 a sheet, I thought it was gold 20 years ago, the stuff they bought the other day was a 1/4" cheap knot filled blow sheet & like I said 59.00 "Highway robbery" I thought 15 -17 bucks a sheet was unreal, I used to work a Multnomah plywood and got it for free 40 years ago, man times have really changed. On the "average" $100,000.00 more to build a hose now than 16 months ago, that's what I said a hundred grand and no I'm not trippin, you heard Ron, 80% more, think about it ???????????????????????? "NUTS" Forget cattle rustlin, I'm goin for them loads of studs or sheet lumber....... .......They'll never recognize me !!! I need a crew, I got plenty of spare bags !! (maybe) Oop !! I forgot they're made of paper too ???
  22. I live right here in timber city U.S.A.. WA. state. Everyone and their dog is logging everything they have. Fir is at an all time high, especially export logs. I drove up the hill where I lived as a kid in Rainier yesterday Pop. 1800. I lived 10 miles out of town, & it looks like a hurricane hit it, everything is flattened, cut down or being cut down, not so much the alder as most of it goes into pulp for PNW paper prods. My brother in law works at Boise cascade making toilet paper as a machine operator, last year they couldn't keep up with all three machines running full tilt, usually there's just one machine maybe 2 running. I worked at 3 jippo mills myself as a kid until I got my welding certs and started building tugboats. There are 7 mills within 10 miles of me, including the worlds largest export log dock 3 miles away right here in Longview on the Columbia river. The longshoremen fill 2 big ships a day. Mostly going you know where (China) they're stockpiling & sinking the logs in ponds that keep underwater for years just like the day they were cut. I'll drive up to Home Depot or Lowes tomorrow & take some pics of the empty lumber racks & the price tags, I couldn't believe it " absolutely Incredible" Timber prices probably will go up very shortly for you Ron, I live right on the hub, it all centers around exporting & the stagnation the U.S. housing mkt. went through during the C19 last year when everything was shut down, the reserves will be gone quick & then you'll be playing catchup like is going on here. Get the family ready Ron, you may be a busy man shortly ??
  23. Yessir !! UMmm..... Hmmm..... !!
  24. RC was my favorite, I never thought to save the mibs, they all kissed the lips of my sling shot the second I got home and spotted a Squirrel or bird or for that matter just a tree. Guess I better post 1 or 2 or..........the big ones are 7/8ths & the little red one is 19/32nds. Sorry for the collage effect !! Maybe one or 2 more Bubble filled caged Asian probably Japanese Vitro Asian, probably Japanese Ok, I'm done (maybe!!)
