Antique German handmade mica W a ghost core, look at the ends, I believe you'll find pontils. The "thread" or green, black ribbon is common in the core of these.

Hi Charlie, in the case of Popeyes it's the addition of an extra opaque color (or two) that make it a hybrid, yours still has a nice pattern to it

first one is semi (opaque) Banded translucent I believe ??? backlight and see, I have a few just like it, none are opaque. Still a killer marble Art and in good shape for the extra soft glass this type was made from.
