Very Interesting transparent green base
akroorka replied to marblemanvintagemarbles's topic in Marble I.D.'s
The Master "Brushed Patch" is a later model, Master Glass. I would call this one a Master Made Marble--earlier. It could be a Whispler from England also.. Not a CAC imho. Marble--On!! -
Do not freak out here "TheMarbleConnection" folks. Fire and I have a great relationship.----sometimes!!!. @Fire1981 is a pal-- a marble collecting pal that will try to light me up here and there. Not this time. MarbleâOn Fire!!!

Generic but pretty cool imho. Nice shape--nice leather--nice graphics. The little balls on the end of the strings--very cool and old as well. You could have found this one at "Wall Drug" quite a few years back. I just love this stuff. Marble--On!!
-
Crop your images for a better ID. The background is cool but--we are into marbles here--not backgrounds. This image space costs moneyâjust so you know. I agree with CACânice marble!! MarbleâOn!!

I did a whole bunch of research on this Ford dealership--a whole bunch--no results. It was old, the poutch is old--the city is small--maybe a new start is needed? Marble--On!!

Good call Ric--not a Flinty---! An Akro Lemon drop would glow orange--I am hung on this one--still--Akro imho. I just love this stuff--especially when someone calls me out. Marble--On!!

@Al Oregon may have a bag or two of these--I Hope-- @Mojo has a great collection of marbles that have never seen the good ole USA borders. I suspect that he may have seen these as well. @Nantucketdink is another that shows up with some weird/cool Foreigners. I may have forgotton a few here--light them up if you know them. These marbles are worth a second or third look. Marble--On!!

This is what I tought--show us some natural images. This is not selling on E-Bay--this is a marble ID request here at "TheMarbleConnection". Natural Sun-light is what it takes for a proper ID. Show us your best natural images--backlight them if possible--Uv is a great thing! Just do not "fix" images for an ID here. I just love this stuff--give us a great image-an original--- Marble--On!! -
My first impression was Peltier--Rainbo. I was just going to call in @Melissa for an opinion--jinx. Marble--On!!

Image #9 shows some "opalescence". To tell the truthâit is more than likely an Akro âYellow Flintieâ. A hard fine for me for sureârare imho. These were included in some of the Akro âtin boxesâ. Backlight it with a small penlight and be rewarded. It will show some âfisheye effectâ while rolling it around on the light. Good eyeâit is at the very least an Akro game marble. Nice marble! MarbleâOn!!

Transitional slag imhoâwho made it?? This one was used and abusedâpretty cool imho. I suspect that this one came out of an âouthouse digâ. Sniff it just for kicks--đ¤˘. Clean it with a tooth brush and put it under water in your next shotđ. Marble--On!!

I like this statement. They are both Peltier "Rainbos". The "mushed" one is not a "cold roll"--copper yes but from where? This is my idea--back in the day---- the kids were playing with marbles/toys in the living room. One marble or perhaps many, rolled down into the cold air exchange down to the burner of the furnace--a coal fired furnace ( yep a real thing). It got cooked and melted--coal was a very hot fire that had inclusions of other minerals of course--just a guess that copper was involvedđ. Regardless--this is a melted home furnace marble imho. I may be "tripin" here but I just love this stuff!! Marble--On!!

@YasudaCollector may find some of these interesting--lets call them in. Marble--On!!

The Akro âTin boxesâ are the only boxes where these pouches were originally found, the #150 and the #200. The Pouches were folded to fit either one. These tins also came with a black âPlasticizedâ pouch along with a few other designs, earlier I think but still pretty cool. I do not remember seeing a #150 tin with a knee pad but the #200 did come with a âknee padâ some times. These knee pads are marked on the inside of the pad with the same Akro logo as your Pouch. ( hard to find---rare!--very costley) These tins also came with a set of âRinger (the game) instructionsâ along with a mail in card that I cannot for the life of me remember what it was forârare stuff thereâI never pursued them. Back in the day these "Tins" could be ordered with a âcustomâ pouch that included the name and city of the folks that ordered them. Usually a âgive awayâ at a grain mill , in my experienceâsome like the rare one that I have included a car dealership. Anyone could âcustom orderâ the boxes with a custom named/printed pouch; they were usually smaller than the pouch in question. I will post a few of my favorites below. I scan the box top and place it in the cover just for show. FunnyâI may have never posted these beforeâwell--- I do not like to bragâjust collectâenough said. The second image is what the first box started out as. It takes some effort and a little bit of cash but you can bring these baby's back to life. I just love doing this stuff! MarbleâOn!!

With this type of either Akro or Master Patch you really have to show the seams or cut marks. Looking from the top does little good except for a few of us here. We are about learning here--for all that are logged in--no ego involved.. I can tell you that image two--the right hand image shows a "classic" Master Made Marble cut mark--the little u. The images below it shows a bigger U which usually means Akro but if it is the same marble on the right with the v--it is a Master Made marble. When trying to differentiate early Akro Patch typeâs vs Master Made, all of this info is important and invaluable. Even with all of the info needed for an ID, the early Akro and Master patches are hard to tell apart sometimes, all color combos are. Keep them coming and we will do out best here, Marble--On!!

So am I--so she was about 100. I would love to see some more individual images of these in the General Chat forum. We can call in some folks in there that would have some more knowledge of them. Just title it as something like "Marbles from down South" or something catchy like that. These marbles deserve more than a simple ID imho. MarbleâOn!!

A disappointing chunk out of a neato corkscrew
akroorka replied to The Nickel Guy's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Tell me about it--if you ever get a corkcrew in a trade with me--you are getting blood--my blood. I just love these things regardless of condition. Marble--On!! -
OK cheese--I get it now. In hand--side by side--we will agree I am sure of it. Marble--On!!

Master Marble Sunburst post No 2 - A mostly blue one
akroorka replied to The Nickel Guy's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Yuk--is that why they really made blacklight--penlights? . I still think that "Criblets" is the coolest word used here in many years. I may just steal it in the future. Marble--On!!
