Given the images--I would call this one veneered--in hand is always the best but in this case--I would call it a Vitro. If you were to crack this one open--I would expect white inside. Marble--On!!

Tell me that that one came from a chicken--lol. Love it! Marble--On!!

I have to cross out Akro and Vitro here for some reason, it is almost a cross between the two. WVS imho---regardless of the ID, it is a nice find---and a very nice marble to look at. Thanks for sharing it. Marble--On!!

It was intended to be a corkscrew and I do not cut lines here like some folks that I respect deeply. This one is a cork in my world--just not too "corky". Nice marble!! Marble--On!!

Pretty opaque orangish red on white

Lets call in @shiroaiko and @YasudaCollector for an opinion here. @Mojo may have to weigh in as well. Marble--On!! -
Nice marble--almost an Alley in looks here and there. The size limits this one to just a few makers of machine made marbles. Pelt, Akro, Alley and Jabo--Master did make some big ones too. This one is a Jabo "Classic" imho. Marble--On!!

Good job at ID! Thanks for sharing it Marble--On!!

Akro Agate Lemonade Oxblood Marble
akroorka replied to Shamrock Marbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I agree with Ric especially in this instance. The ox in this one is the same as what is commonly found in a Silver oxblood---runny more bloody--not so thick and not so showy--if you know what I mean. In my humble experience--this type of base glass holds up under wear better than a silver. Nice find! Marble--On!! -
Nice marble--"Rattle Snake" imho--from the good ole USA. Nice find!! marnle--On!!

We can never be sure of that but I am glad to see that you backed off on the box description. These did show up together in some rare and desirable “Popeye Boxes”, Probably at 5/8” or maybe –just maybe--@11/16”. The oxblood marbles that Akro made always included non-oxbloods of the same nature—swirls. Some colors did not mix well with the oxblood theme. Nice marbles—very nice! Marble—On!!

This I can appreciate Ric and respect as well. Annealing fractures is what we are used to calling these--hot marbles on cold rollers. They just cooled too fast and cracked, like a minature earthquake. The inside was hot, the outside was too --but not as hot--ooopps a crack formed. No argument here from me. I always appreciate your input. Thanks for being who you are--- Marble--On!!

Oh--by the way--a Master "brushed patch" would show the white on the surface--rarely deeper than that. It would look like you actually took a brush and slapped some color on the outside of the orb. Marble—On!!

For some reason, I appreciate a fracture or two. Consider that this one made it down the line--past inspection and into the market--obviously never played with and into the fingers of a collector who loves it. It is easy to find fractures in MK marbles--not too common in Vitro imho. I just love this kind of stuff if you consider the history of the marble itself. This poor little guy/gal finally found a home and I love it. Great marble! Marble--On!!

Me too--lets ask @Melissa for an eval here--she knows her MK marbles for sure. Marble--On!!

It is still a MK--just prettier. Nice job! Marble--On!!

Vitro--yes--the oxblood is just a thing that happened--hard to explain. Nice find. Marble--On!!

What Fire says for sure--nice marble. @Ric is checking in from time to time--he is the Vitro guy all day long. Marble--On!!

These clays--some of them--were made in Ohio and probably others places in the USA as well. @akronmarbles knows more about these than any that I can think of. Lets call him on the phone here and see if he answers. Marble--On!!

I agree with @Fire1981--nice marble! Marble--On!!

It is always exciting to find a "nine" in any marble. Great images! If you were to take a few out of a mint box of Akro game marbles and highlight them like you did here--you may be amazed. I appreciate the fact that you took your time and did this one justice. I like it and the passion that you show for collectable marbles. Thanks for the work involved and of course sharing it with us here. Marble--On!!

It does look like a Master but with these colors never rule out a Vacor "Sunset". Just sayin. Marble--On!!
