  1. I really doubt that it is polished. Slags were made to last and millions upon millions were made. Many companies made slags, and this is what it is, a slag. Nice one. The only ones that are hard to distinguish one from the other are Akro and MFC. This is a machine made slag made by Akro Agate. imho of course. Marble--On!!!
  2. I would love to know the process involved Mojo. I have always been a crafty guy but this is new to me. Marble--On!!
  3. I have been a bottom feeder in all forms of collecting my entire life. It has never stopped me. Research and identification has always been my ally. I have done quite well regardless of the big pocket collectors that I have had to compete with. Every shop, auction or estate sales person that I have visited has always had one “collector” person that the seller or manager “goes-to”. I have never understood this he/she loyalty thing because I know that I would have done much better (they all knew it). I have been buying beat up, scratched, crushed, dried out, dirty, torn, ripped, unrecognizable marble boxes for years. I love to bring them back to life, and then back fill them. I am priced out by ridiculous bids and offers over the last two years. Unreal—really-- unreal. I never did this collecting thing to get rich and I do not expect to realize any riches. I blame it on the social media platform—“show me what you” have mentality. How long will it last? Forever I hope, I can compete because I do the research, bottom feeder that I may be. Marble on!! And collect on as well!! All collectors take heed, I am watching and waiting for my chance and I guarantee that I will be there!!
  4. I am with you Ric, What the (fully filled is that?) Love it--Great Pelt!

    WVS 2

I have a few Heatons Oxbloods from a box. The oxblood looks a bit deep to me and the green a bit too light in color. More opinions needed here. Marble--On!!
  6. This one would be my first ID of an Alley on this board. That is what I will call it. No Jabo here. Worth a bump up at least--I suck at WVS ID Nice marble!! Marble--On!!
  7. Jabo would be my guess. Marble--On!!
  8. It is a Master Made Marble. There is no evidence imho of any type of veneering going on. It is a deeply colored, well made, vintage USA imho. I checked out your link Ric and I cannot say the same for the ones listed in the post. Marble--On!!
  9. Not an Imperial. I do not think that it is a Master either. Most Master marbles are not 50-50 in the coloration, side to side or cutoff to cutoff. No Marble King here imho. The separation at the cut-lines shows a white subsurface, suggesting a veneer type marble. The base is all white to the center no doubt. I would call this an early attempt at veneering. Vitro did this quite well. I think that you did well in your ID Marbleneophyte. Marble—On!!!

Does this make us twins?, Chad, you and I may be tripletts. Who knew? Marble--on!!

    CAC?

Size matters Jeremy. This one looks like a nice jabo to me.
  13. An "almost" Forrest Gump quote. "Wise is as Wise does" If you like them under Black Light--so be it. Collect what you like, this is 2022, things have changed quite a bit since machine mades were starting to be collected. I love using black light to display and I love the ones that "light up". Adjust and be happy, collect to be happy. I love this stuff! Marble--on!!
  14. Un-real! That looks like one of those black Jabo to me. Anyone else care to experiment? Great job Jeremysvt. Marble--On!!
  15. I like the nice clear transparent ones as well--simple beauty. Great marbles Ric! Great colors as well! I wish that Swarovski made round marbles, I would get me some. This is as close as it gets for me so far, a Swarovski “marble”--lol. (good thing the sun was out today—the camera went wild trying to focus) Marble—On!!
  16. Yes Ric, Parakeet may be the collectors name for these smaller ones but I prefer Parrot. Whenever I hear or read the word Parakeet I flash back to being 3 years old. I stepped on the family Budgie (poor Peetie) and he was a goner. I really did not get it at the time but I have been reminded of it plenty since then. We got another Peetie—he flew away—smart bird that one. Parrot on!!
  17. Here is a nice little Vitro Parrot at 5/8”.
  18. I would say 50 years old maybe more, maybe quite a bit less. Vacors and Imperials have been around for some time. This type, at this time, are not a highly sought after collectable marble. There is not a lot of research to be found----yet, on Vacors or Imperials age wise or design wise. Marble--On!!
  19. I agree, Vacor or an Imperial---big one. Nice marble!
