We will refer to these as Chinese but they are being made in India as well as a few other places on earth. Get used to the patterns and ignore the colors, they come in quite a variety. Torch made, machine made, handmade, etc. We are getting flooded with this type. There were a few posts regarding “German Handmade” marbles earlier in the week that were questionable. Do not put anything past what the Chinese will do to sell a product. Keep your eyes open and question everything that you see. I happen to like them, not what these sellers do to try to rip off the newer collector---just the marbles and what I know that it takes to make them, the people/folks themselves working at low wages and suffering to make ends meet. I will collect them!! Marble—On!!

I will pay ten bucks for any mayonnaise jar full of marbles Mothra. Just as Steph says here, it is a common thing to find a mix of old and new today. This is what the uninformed seller as well as the informed seller will do to get a sale. They get a few here and a few there mix them together and hope for the best. This is why we continue to try to be informed, to distinguish the uninformed seller from the informed when it comes to a jar/bag/lot/single sale of marbles at least. I was just last week at a junk dealers place that told me he would not show me any marbles because he did not know enough about them and he knew that they could be worth many dollars. He had them “all at the house” waiting for his marble “guy”. The next day he posted a jar of marbles on his face-book page. What’s-up with that? I will go back once again and offer to be his “marble guy”. I have enough marbles really, and offered to give him estimation’s with no sales or offers. (I will take pictures) I feel a trap—LOL. Marble traps are a good thing! I left there feeling that he trusted me more than when I first arrived at least. I just love looking now, really I do. I have plenty of time to estimate value for the less informed. I must not have a trusted face when it comes to being a “marble guy”. I am a Minnie Step---I just love research, on all marbles, old, new and in-between. I love this stuff! We all do! Keep posting and continue to, Marble—On!!!

Welcome Mothra, Your marble does kinda look like a "green onion"😁 and I agree with Chad that it is a foreign made example. There have been discussions in the marble world as to whether or not Master Marble and others were trying to make marbles that resembled hand-made onion skins so you are not far off from that same thinking. Keep posting, we all love this stuff! Marble—On!!!

This is an interesting slag. I do not recall seeing any slags with pollution like this. The red is right at the cutoff then it swirls inside. The shears must have been lubricated somehow and that is my guess. A copper based lube of some sort🩸? Cool marble! Marble—On!!

I will admit that I was digging through books thinking the same thing. Good eye and call on this one Ron and Steph. Be carefull with it for sure. Marble--On!!

Here ya go Fire. They come in a variety of styles. You first! (I cannot get the thought of little eight year old Fire with a marble in his belly button out of my head ) Marble—On!!

I have something smaller but similar. It is 5”X 5”, made of glass, mold pressed no doubt and the little glass marbles are ¼’. Some of the marbles still have remnants of a seam that looks to be from a “bullet mold”—go figure. The glass plate has two sides, one square and one diamond. There are no markings on the box or paper work but the glass is mold stamped, “REGISTERED”, “REGISTRE”, “MADE IN”, “CZECHO-SLOVAKIA”. The original owner wrote her name in the box, she lived in Lowell Mass. The paperwork with it used to make some ”registered/registre designs”. Cool stuff Mojo, I hope this helps. Marble—On!!

I do not think that it is Akro or Vacor. I think that you have a game marble there and many companies made them. They really have not received much in the way of research and it could have been made on any number of machines here in the USA or abroad. I used to backlight a lot of game marbles when I was trying to backfill Akro Chinese Checker boxes. It can get quite addicting---just like all the rest of the marbles that we see here😏. They are not so similar when you really start to gaze at them—I just narrowed down the Akro and there were too many others to try to pin down. Having fun is the key to collecting. Marble—On!!

The Jabo contract runs did include a few one inch runs, just sayin. Transparent yellow, transparent orangy red, a creamy white base, 7/8”, I would agree with Jabo and not necessarily a double ingot. Maybe just a rare biggie. Many more opinions are needed. A very nice marble to be sure! I have never seen anything like it. Marble—On!!

My question is has anyone ever seen a Pelt like this? I am not getting any Akro or Master vibes here. More comments are needed on this one. Marble—On!!

I found a blue one resembling yours called “Frosted Blast” which might just be a blue “Polaris Assorted” or a “Pearly” that was frosted (tumbled I think, maybe another process was used) . The Polaris Assorted/Pearly have an iridescent finish which would explain the sparkly fissures in yours. The tumbler did not get all of the iridescence out of the deeper grooves. Vacor makes/made a number of frosted marbles and It would be OK in my opinion to figure that at least some of them were produced to stretch the Peso a bit from a bad run of other types of marbles. Just an opinion here, no facts. Marble—On!!

These are not Flinties, they are asian marbles and they may be called “pinchers” regarding the cutoff marks. More opinions are needed here. Marble—On!!

This one looks like a red Flintie to me, nice find. I have some 7/8” Flinties and I do not know right off hand if they came any larger. The Akro tin box #200 commonly held eight ¾”Flinties and the smaller #150 tin could be found with four ¾” Flinties and five smaller ones at 5/8" or 11/16". They would be found in the edge of the tin or between the inserts and not in the inserts. The “Akro Flinties” square boxes held up to 13/16”. I love em all! Marble—On!!
