I am a not a Pelt head Bee. I am a cork-head ----but---I have collected a lot of different things in my life. Patience is my ally in all of my collecting experience. This is a tad "out there" beyond patience. At least it looks like no shill bidders. Crazy stuff. Marble--On and ----Patience on as well!!!

Regardless of the name--those are top shelf Tiger-Eyes. Very well-filled for sure. Books and information regarding marbles is, and always will be-- in flux. No apologies needed for sure. I just call them like I see them---no disrespect is ever intended on my part. Keep on Keepin on and Marble--On for sure!!!

Size matters as we have all found out lately. Better to post twice than to post on the wrong topic--- I do not think that all "Parrots" came out as desired---Nice bunch though!! Marble--On!!!

Chuck, I agree with all that you have said about the Akro Hero colors. Hero’s were pretty deep in color though. The seams that show white in the seams point me towards an early veneered marble. I would not call this an MK or a Master Made marble. Maybe an earlier Master Glass….. A tough one no doubt. I just call them like I see them—no disrespect towards your opinions. Marble—On!!!

Whatever happened to the good old days when a hit mark did not matter that much—lets revisit these days from the past and show some nice but not always wet mint marbles. Fussy is fine but marbles are cool regardless of damage. Marble—On!!!

This is a tough one Schmoozer. Closer images are needed. From what I can see now, not Akro or Master. Foreign--maybe from south of the border. Marble--On!!

Ten years--I hope to be around to see them with the new technology available in the years ahead.đź‘» Marble--On!!!

#3 is not a cateye. Probably a Sunburst. Not all Sunburst marbles are blessed with color. Master made nasty cateyes. I will look for some to post an image of. Marble--On!!

If I had to pick a "Comet" out of this bunch it would be the third marble. I thought that the first one may just be a UV reaction but you call it green so I will go with that. There are black and white comets that have a glow to them. Comets are one of the hardest to ID, Akro vs Master--especially the light "baby" blue and yellow ones. Marble--On!!!

Fun to watch for sure! Thanks Chad!! Marble--On!!!

It is a beautiful marble no doubt. It reminds me of a Peltier “Miller”. This one would be a Pelt Miller on steroids plus something else. Could you image a machine made like this? Great marble!! Marble---On!!!

"Compare the second one to to some Champion Furnace marbles while you are at it from the post above. Marble--On!!!" Sorry Fire, I made this post on the wrong topic. I meant to put it on the "Three for ID" that was posted last night. Nothing is directed at you, just a posting mistake on my part. I apologize for any hurts feelings and will watch where I put my postings a bit closer in the future. Marble--On!!!

Here is an old post that I found with some nice Vitro Marbles Images. Marble--On!! http://www.gaiser.org/vitro/

Compare the second one to to some Champion Furnace marbles while you are at it from the post above. Marble--On!!!

Compare these to some Champion Furnace marbles. It's the direction that I would go in. Marble--On!!

I would lean towards Vitro on both of these. The top one does have what some folks would say is Vitro oxblood. The bottom one just because of the colors. Marble--On!!!

One More ID Request Before Moving On With the Day
akroorka replied to Marbleized's topic in Marble I.D.'s
This one reminds me of a larger one that I have like this. It has blue base glass. I always thought that it was a Dug Akro. I had it ID'd at a show as a Jabo---lolat least some folks said they did not know. Everything was a Jabo back then if it did not line up with the norm. No clues, but it does look older. Parakeet is a collector’s name that has quite a few different definitions. You could call the OP a Parakeet because of the size and a lot of folks may agree with you, then again a lot may not. The streaked yellow in the OP is seen in Parrots and it pushes me in that direction. Parrots have been Parrots since they were made. I think that it is safer to call this a Parrot because of the multiple views on what a Parakeet is. You could find the “originator” of this “Parakeet” nickname and still be at odds on just what a Parakeet is in different circles. I would call the ones that Berryb posted Tiger-eyes because the bottom line is, that is what they were marketed as, they may have nicknames as well. . (Except for the far right one which I do not recognize—may be an off the loop All Red) Nicknames can get twisted and rearranged to the delight of the owner. Marble—On!!!

Id'ing Cat Eyes Before Putting in a Display Jar
akroorka replied to Marbleized's topic in Marble I.D.'s
The eight yellow ones are MK. The bottom white one is MK. The top white/yellow is a Vitro hybrid. The other two white ones I cannot say just what they are because of the angle. The rest look like Vitro to me. -
I see two distinct shades of blue, plus yellow and a reddish orange, four colors. The white appears pink with little if any, other true white showing. I think that it is a “Parrot”. Cool tail on this one! Marble---On!!!

The colors look right to me. A keeper for sure! Marble--On!!

Here are a few images of what some folks may call a “Black Popeye”. There is some clear in it and the wispy white is packed in pretty firmly. These do show up with more clear and more traditional wispiness. I had to oil this one up a bit to get it imaged because the surface looks like it was in the ocean awhile. I do not know that there is any real “Black” in glassmaking but as you can see, it sure looks black. The second set disproves that. This “black” is very similar to the kind of color that we see in “Blue Oxbloods”. As a matter of fact there may be some oxblood buried in this one. Too deep for me to really find out but I think that I saw it in the viewfinder before I took several shots. The dark color just eats light up. Marble—On!!!
